Vehicle Detail

I am a BMW Car Club of America member who is reluctantly selling his unmodified 2002 BMW M5. I just have too many cars at the moment to I need to thin out the fleet, but this is one that I will be sad to see go. This M5 has been my daily driver since 2008 and one of the best car I've ever owned. I am the second owner with a full service history since 53k miles and the full history prior to 53k miles is documented in the BMW system that can be accessed at any BMW Dealer. NO RESERVE! Highest bidder takes it. You will have a hard time finding an unwrecked, unmodified M5 for this price. The exterior is Carbon black metallic (essentially a very dark navy blue) with a black extended leather interior, burr walnut wood trim and the Alcantara swede headliner. It is 100% stock with the exception of an iPod/iPhone interface in place of the factory CD changer. All electronics work, no warning lights, just a good solid car. There aren't that many 400hp, manual transmission sedans out there - and certainly not in this price range. It is in decent condition but in no way a concourse show car. It looks as you would expect for a car that's been used for commuting since 2002. The front bumper shows the typical stone chips and there are a few scratches and dings in various places. I've tried to include pictures of everything. I had the front bumper and hood resprayed when I bought it but it doesn't matter much now because both have acquired enough stone chips to warrant another respray (just one of the joys of commuting). The sun has taken its toll on the rubber molding that borders the windshield as shown in the pictures. These are cosmetic blemishes but I believe in full disclosure as my feedback shows. All three original keys are includes but only one of the fobs will operate the keyless entry. All of the original owners manuals and brochures are included as pictured. As for maintenance, I have all of me service records that come with the car (see pictures). I recently installed a new battery (from BMW), new rear wheel bearing, new fuel pump, new purge valve and new tires with all work preformed at the BMW dealer. The front brakes pads were done last year but you'll probably be due for rotors with the next set of pads. As far as future maintenance, I think its going to be due for front struts in the future as I can hear some noise from the current struts over rough roads. I've never had any issues with the clutch, it grabs very well. But with 133k miles on the original clutch I would expect that you'd have to do a clutch as some point. I was expecting to have to do a clutch by now but it never gave me any problems. The only other issue worth mentioning is an intermittent shimmy that I feel occasionally at highway speeds. Generally I would assume that as 133k miles it is due for some maintenance on the front suspension. There are several M5's for sale out there right now that are being marketed as 'needing nothing', you should be wary of those cars. I'll tell you everything that I think this car will need in the foreseeable future. I have no interest in misrepresenting this car, I'm an honest eBayer as my feedback shows. This is a solid M5 for commuting, weekend drives, autocrossing or even high performance driver education schools. There is a lot of life left in this M5 and I will miss it dearly. I am looking for a hassle-free transaction and can provide the same in return. Please don't ask me to jump through hoops as I would sooner sell it to the next guy or gal if they are more reasonable. Payment by Cashiers check or cash at pick up. Payment due within 5 business days from the sale date. Car is sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. Buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping arrangements. I would be happy to work with your shipping company if you need to have the car shipped. When I sold my M3 I met the buyer at BWI airport and he drove it all the way back to Oregon! Please note, payment must be made in accordance with the terms of the sale as stated above regardless of shipping arrangements. No reserve! Highest bidder takes it, thanks and happy bidding. On Apr-08-13 at 14:37:43 PDT, seller added the following information: One additional blemish I neglected to mention; there is a small hole in the front bumper cover but it is covered by the license plate. Thanks.
