I purchased this car in April 2004. It's been driven less than 3,000 miles since. The body was restored in 2006 prior to painting. The 1970 model production was lower than surrounding years due to a labor strike. Only 6,648 convertibles were manufactured in 1970 compared to 16,633 in 1969 and 7,121 in 1971. This one has fresh Magnetic Red Metallic paint (2005 factory color) with an L-88 replica hood. The engine is a new 350 Cu. In. 355 HP GM crate engine with less than 4,000 miles. Unfortunately I don't have the original engine. It does have the original 4 speed close ratio transmission recently rebuilt with Hurst linkage and shifter. The rear end is 4.11:1 posi-traction. The vacuum system for the lights and wipers is fully functional. The top is good but only up when it's stored for the winter. All new gauges and clock were installed in 2007. It also has a custom Kenwood AM/FM radio and CD player in a replica original dash/console (no cut out, Corvette America part #44791) and a custom speaker bar in the rear of roof storage area (Eckler's part #43687). I still have the original radio, gauges, and console insert. It has custom Enkei wheels and Firestone low profile radial tires. The power steering and brakes are in good working order. The car has been garaged since I purchased it and only driven occasionally. While the car is not fast, it is amazingly quick and handles extremely well with the low profile tires. It's hard to imagine that it's over 40 years old. Good luck bidding.
