Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1984 GMC Jimmy. This truck is a “head-turner”. I am always getting complemented on it. I have personally rebuilt this truck. It has a removable top, which is easy to take off, if you have a garage (see pics). It has been garaged for the 9 years I have had it. It was repainted with House of Kolors paint. I Rhinolined the lower part of the truck. Under the hood, the engine is in great shape for its age. I put on a Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock carburetor, new distributor (& cap), newer plug wires, new oil pan, and newer battery. I installed FlowTech Afterburner full headers, with Hooker dual exhaust/mufflers. The tires are 90% good (guessing). All of these items have less than 2K miles on them. I also have a set of 15X33 tires that will go with the truck (not best shape, but usable). I use the street tires in the spring, fall, & winter & put on the 33’s in the summer when the rear top comes off for cruising. It is a “manly” convertible. This truck is identical and the parts are interchangeable with the Cheverolet ( Chevy ) K5 Blazer. When rebuilding, I replaced the doors, 1 rocker, hood (some bumps), and tailgate due to rust. I also put on a rack on the removable top for transporting items. It can also be used as a ladder rack. The interior is in good shape for its age. There are a couple small tears in the leather seats, and a bleach stain on the bed carpet. There is a small scratch through the paint on the passenger side rear where the top slid off before I bolted it back down. The scratch & bleach stain are added in the pics. It happened after the original pictures were taken. This is by no means a $50,000 show truck; however it is rebuilt well, with a “home” paint job. U can see minor imperfections in paint when looking close up. Besides rust-proofing, one of the reasons I Rhinolined the lower body is to save tim & $ on resanding/touching up the lower metal that was replaced on the body. The engine, transmission & 4 wheel drive are all in good shape. This a SOLID, FUN, RELIABLE truck. This was never my “daily driver”, and was only driven maybe 2k miles a year. It had 79K miles when I purchased it, And it now it just turned 88k miles. I rarely drove it in the winter. I have never been mudding/rocking in it. . I have had it in 2 farmer’s fields in the mud during hunting season. The truck has been “babied” since I have had it. The sound system has 3 sony amps, a 12” Warren G sub, 5 mid/high speakers (Infinity/Alpine/Pioneer). It has a detachable face mp3/cd/ipod/aux deck with a NICE pre-amp for fine tuning the system. I designed this system to be waterproof, in case I got caught in the rain with the top off. This was our weekend/camping truck. The black boxes in the rear of the truck contains the amps, sub, @ 6X9’s. The amps need to have the ground wire reclamped (it whines a little from speakers when driving). The truck originally came with power windows/locks, which I converted to “mechanical” when I replaced the doors when painting. It also had an electric choke, which had to be removed, due to the carburetor upgrade. The electric choke was nice, but it always starts if you know how to start a carbureted truck. If I can find the stock (quad4) carburetor, it will be included with the truck. I also removed the air conditioner (on engine). It didn’t work when I bought it, and I always have the top off in summer. The reason I originally done the engine upgrades was because the truck was missing out. I kept replacing componets 1X1 until there was nothing left and it was still missing out. Come to find out, it was the actual distributor! This was after over $2k in unnecessary upgrades! I have a total of over $5K in upgrades in the past 2 years. For some reason, the title has the odometer as exempt, but I was told that it was due to the year of the truck and not having a 1000K number on odometer. Be sure to notice the scratches and bleach mark in the back of the bed/carpet. It is different than in the original pics. My plan is/was to Rhinoline or rubber mat the entire carpet area, due to 90% of my driving was in the summer with the top off (in case it rained). Well, that’s the story of the truck. If you have any questions, please e-mail me. Thank you, BradOn Apr-05-13 at 14:38:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I just noticed that Carfax says the vehicle was in an accident in Cincinnati Ohio in 2011. This is not true. I have owned the vehicle since 2004, and have never had it out of the state (IN). Don't know why or how Carfax got that information. When I bought the truck in 2004, it was factory burgundy/black paint, and there was no dents or signs of a wreck. I am the second owner of the vehicle, and the original owner is from Chicago, IL. Also, I forgot to mention that there are a few thin cracks in the dashboard, and there are rust spots on the wheel wells (seen from under hood), but not on body of truck. If you can't tell from pictures, it also has a Reese towing package on it. The stereo also has a usb (thumb) drive input that will play mp3's.
