Looking to sale my 1985 Honda Nighthawk. I purchased this bike a couple weeks ago from the original owner. This bike was sitting in an older gentlemen's garage for many years. Bike comes with Original title from the issue date of 01/08/1987. This bike is truly original just as you would have purchased it back in the 80's. Since buying the bike I have done some maintenance to get it running again which include, draining the gas and cleaning the petcock, replacing battery, changing clutch and brake fluids, as well as the oil. Everything on this awesome motorcycle works even the digital fuel and gear indicator gauge. The Nighthawk runs amazing, very responsive and smooth. Only thing is that it may need a carb clean which I have not done yet. I was going to wait and run a few tanks of fuel through it first and see how it was. Reason I think it may need a clean is the bike struggles to idle a bit once first started and needs the choke on for longer than usual. When riding the bike it doesn't hesitate at all, very smooth through all the gears. Brakes are a little squeaky but pads are in good shape, probably from sitting just needs to be ridden. Tires are in very good shape, great tread and no sidewall damage. The paint and body of this bike is in very good shape for the age. Paint is very shiny and clean. There are a few scratches here and there but nothing major at all. The tank has a little dent that is highlighted in one of the pics, hardly noticeable. Some of the chrome has very minor pitting, mainly on the carb tops. The front forks have some what I believe to be oxidation which I have taken a picture of. Probably can be polished up or buffed off. The seat is in perfect shape, not a tear in it. The seat has the original covering. The chrome backing on the turn signals has very very minor flaking. Only can see if you look up real close. Bike even has the original tool bag in the original holder. Overall this motorcycle is truly an amazing find. Once and a life time opportunity to own one with this low of miles. The bike is not perfect but in amazing shape for the year. I have tried to declare and mention everything I can so there are no surprises. I prefer local pickup. I am more than happy to assist in anyway I can with that. I need at least a 500 dollar deposit at auction end. If you are planning on coming to pick the bike up in person I can accept the additional payment in cash. It seems that some may have interpreted that from my listing. Yes the valve covers have a little clear coating peeling, and yes the cylinder wall paint is not perfect and yes there is a dent in the tank but in my opinion is in amazing shape for the year. If you are a collector looking to add to your massive "showroom condition" collection than maybe this bike is not for you.
