Vehicle Detail

1967 Ford Fairlane Nostalgia Drag Car A decade of passion has gone into building this car. It is truly a labor of love. Car was purchased complete but stripped down to the bare body shell ready for a build up. This is a fresh build, the engine has never even been fired. Every effort was made to preserve the nostalgic nature of the build while updating to modern safety requirements. Car was originally raced back in 1968 when they mounted the original leaf springs inbound to fit some big meats. The subsequent owner let it sit like that for 35 years before stripping it down and setting it up for a 385-Series big block with some Crites mounts and headers. This car has been a race car for the vast majority of its life. I just took it further. The car has a clean title and has absolutely no rust whatsoever. It is a brand new build. Click on photos to see album below! In these pictures you can see how the car was finished including how it looks now and the rendering I had done for the "final" version of the car. I'm a diehard Ford guy. This build represents to me the ultimate badassed street/race car. Something that would command respect and admiration from Chevy and Mopar guys while staying loyal to the blue oval bretheren. And with 505 cubic inches of fire-breathing big block Ford under the hood, exhaust cackling with the 2-1/8 inch open headers and 14:1 compression striking fear into any bystanders that happen to be near it, it certianly delivers. Click on photos to see album below! I built this car from the ground up using all the best parts. Starting with a bare shell, fitting the big block, then hacking out the back half and installing a full-on ladder bar setup complete with narrowed 9-inch (from 9-inch Harry) that is fully gussetted with a Detroit Locker, Moser 4.33 gears, Moser 33-spline Pro-Race axles, Mark Williams center section and bearings, and the large truck drums for the rear that hang on Competition Engineering ladder bars with coil-over springs and panhard bar. It has a full interior, carpet, headliner, dashpad, etc. with exposed aluminum sheeting covering the back half and a custom dash and console for gauges and controls. Click on photos to see album below! The engine uses a Scat Comp 9000 crank, Eagle forged H-bean Rods with ARP fasters used throughout the build. Custom Ross Racing pistons with special friction coating designed for use with nitrous. Compression is 14:1 with the 72cc chambers on the fully ported SCJ heads that flow 349 CFM on the intake. The camshaft is a custom grind solid roller 268/276@.50 - .726 lift on a 108. The entire valvetrain is band new with Comp triple valvesprings rated to .800 lift, titatium locks and retainers on the new 2.25 intake 1.76 exhaust valves. It has a complete Comp stud girdle kit and comes with the 4-1/2 inch deep Ford Motorsport valve covers. A tunnel ram and two fresh Holley 660 Center Squirters round out the induction. A NOS Cheater nitrous system jetted to 250 HP is mounted along with separate complete fuel systems for both the engine and the nitrous system. The engine makes 714 HP on motor. Add the 250 HP nitrous sytem and you've got over 950 HP in this beast. Click on photos to see album below! Ignition is handled by a NASCAR spec MSD-6T and accompanying Soft-Touch rev limiter. MSD also handles the timing via a Programmable Timing Computer which sends spark to a fully electronic locked out distributor. There are controllers dial adjusters to handle the 2-step launch RPM, rev limit, nitrous activation RPM, nitrous shut-off RPM and timing retard for nitrous activation. There is a FULL sweet of AutoMeter gauges including nitrous and fuel pressure for both systms (with isolators) mounted in the dash and on the 14-point roll cage. there are Summit Racing racing seats with RCI harnesses in both, and 2-step and nitrous purge controls are mounted on the steering wheel. The custom center control box contains switches for the electric fans, both fule pumps (separately), nitrous activation, ignition activation, and a momentary starter button. A large 2-core aluminum radiator with 16" electric fan and trans cooler are mounted up front. The fuel systems consist of a fuel cell that sumps through the floor into two complete systems. A Holley black pump with -10 lines feed the engine and a Holley blue with -8 lines feed the nitrous with -6 lines running to both carbs and the nitrous solenoid. The front suspension is all brand new with Mustang lower control arms, springs, adjustable drag shocks and disk brakes with Mustang calipers and braided lines. Wheels in front are custom made Amercian Racing Torque Thrust D's in 15x4. Wheels are Moroso 25.5" front runners. Rear meats are Goodyear Eagle Drag Slicks in 31x14 mounted with rim screws to 15x12 steel drag wheels. The tires are all BRAND NEW, never been run. The transmission is a reverse manual valvebody C-6, that was just built. It is actuated by a reverse pattern B&M Pro-Stick shifter with line-loc button mounted to it and reverse lock-out. The torque converter is a 5000 stall Edge Racing converter that was $800 just by itself. The battery is an Optima deep cycle yellow top in a SFI battery box with external charging bungs and cut off. It is nestled in the trunk with the fuel cell and NOS nitrous bottle. The body has been upgraded with a fiberglass hood, fiberglass decklid, and fiberglass bumpers front and rear. Race weight is approximately 3150 lbs. without driver. The car is COMPLETE but separate, the chassis has everything in it, wiring, ignition, fuel system, EVERYTHING. Upon winning the auction, you will receive: The complete Rolling ChassisThe complete Unfired EngineThe complete Race-Ready Transmission I am happy to answer any questions you have on the car. 216-392-1321
