Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1973 BMW R75/5 LWB Toaster. The bike is in good used condition that has been my everyday rider. I upgraded the charging system to the /6 version that has more output than the /5's. Also has electronic ignition. Tires have good tread and should be good for a few more thousand miles. Complete top end was done by Bob's BMW a few years back. I really do not know how many miles are on the bike. The speedo was broke when I bought it and still does not work, it just spins sometimes (title say 98465 miles, but I doubt that is true based on the condition) . Title is clear in my name. The bike starts and runs fine for its age. I have taken it on several long trips; has never let me down. Will run 75 MPH on the freeway all day. The transmission shifts as it should but does have the BMW clunk. This is a nice unrestored, everyday rider bike with the normal wear and tear. Looks pretty original except for the saddle. If you are looking for a show bike that has been totaly rebuilt, this is not for you. The bike is shown with a side stand, this side stand DOES NOT come the bike. It belongs to my friend Known issues: The head tube ID tag is missing. It either fell off or someone stole it. It was on the bike when I bought it. The frame and motor numbers match which match the title, 4005305, 5/73 build date. There is some rust starting on the right side exhaust at the muffler. At very very low speeds there is a slight front end wobble that seems to disappear once the tires and everything gets warmed up. From what I understand this is common issue for the /5's. Notice the scatches on the top of the tank on the top. Tried to show in the pictures. I tried to descibe the bike as truthfull as possible. I prefer to have the deposit via PayPal with the balance in cash or certified funds. Any certified funds will have to clear before the bike leaves the garage.
