Vehicle Detail

ULTRA-RARE NO-LEAK CARS AND CONCEPTS T-TOPS NUMBERS MATCHING REAL PONTIAC 400 4-SPEED HIGHLY OPTIONED 1978 PONTIAC TRANS AM LOCATED IN TEXAS DRY STORAGE FOR YEARS READY FOR RESTORATION First, thank you very much to all who were watching and participating in my original auction for this item. I want to apologize to the hundreds of people who were watching in anticipation as the auction neared its end, especially to those who had leading bids. I cannot express how disappointed I am in how ebay chose to handle what its computer software perceived as something worded in a way that ebay does not prefer. I thought I was being a fair seller by accepting any payment method a buyer would potentially like to use. Apparently ebay does not want sellers to accept certain payment types and/or is extremely picky about the exact wording used to describe said payment methods and options. I have been listing items on ebay for over ten years and they never had an issue with my wording before so I can only imagine they have added some criteria based on whatever or it's just another attempt to increase their revenue. Whatever the case, in my opinion it is horrible customer service to delete an auction like they did without even talking with me first or offering another option. And why ebay chose to wait until 24 hrs before auction end I will never understand. If ebay software has an issue with anything I wrote they should apply their checks when I first submit the auction ad, not after it's been out there for 9 days. In any event, I apologize once again for whatever I did and for whatever ebay did. I realize whenever something goes wrong with an auction such as what happened here, for whatever reason, the second time around bids never seem to go as high as they did the first time. I cannot explain why that usually seems to happen, but for those who may have been hoping to win this vehicle for less, at least you have another chance here. For the bidders who were already leading the pack, I hope this hasn't been too inconvenient or too discouraging. This car is still available and will sell with this no reserve auction provided ebay doesn't do anything to stop it. For whatever it's worth, I am listing for 7 days this time rather than 10 days. I realize this also may cut down on the price I receive but if it helps those who were thinking they were close to having a chance to win this vehicle, then it's all I can think to do to help somewhat. And now... back to the car description. One of the best known most sought after T/As ever built Ever heard of Cars and Concepts T-tops? There were four companies making t-tops for the second generation Trans Am; Fisher, Hurst, American, and Cars & Concepts What makes the Cars and Concepts T-tops unique? Their superior design- These T-tops were designed with aluminum channels that prevented water from leaking into the passenger cabin, yes... even once the rubber weather stripping becomes aged or damaged. This was due to their unique and ingenious design. All other T-tops put glass on top of rubber, all the water had to do was follow gravity to get inside the car. Many Firebird enthusiasts will say "all" t-tops leak, but that's usually because they haven't experienced the C'nC T-tops. These C'nC T-tops physically cannot leak and never will- at least unless water figures out how to go against gravity. That's because there is a wall of metal above the water channel that doesn't depend on rubber weather-stripping to keep the water out. The other unique design element of the C'nC T-tops is the welded extra support bracing that runs from the windshield to the rear window. It is very sturdy and greatly reduces body flex in T-top Trans Ams. Not to mention- the C'nC T-tops have the largest glass, and therefore the largest openings with the T-tops removed. They have the most feeling of open-air driving in any Trans Am. I have seen these tops sell at Trans Am meets for over $1,200 for the pair or $800 each individually. These are extremely rare and people that need one will pay highly for them. Other options on this rare bird include: Pontiac 400 4BBL Factory Hurst 4-speed Power Doors, Windows, Locks Rear Defrost Tilt Steering Cruise Control A/C This Trans Am is a great candidate for a full restoration given its rare tops and desirable matching number drive train and options list Restoration Info: - Passenger Quarter needs lower inner-outer - Driver Quarter is repairable - Rockers look good - Lower windshield corners look good - No other rust issues - Floors are good - Passenger mirror missing - All engine accessories included, except a/c compressor and radiator - Front center air foil missing - Front passenger wheel flair missing chunk - Interior decent condition, seat upholstery could be reused - Dash in great condition - Shaker scoop UNCUT - I understand there is some issue with the engine and I recommend rebuilding the motor. It was my intention to put the car back to factory condition so I wasn't too concerned if the motor had a bad head gasket or broken valve stem, etc. I understood from the previous owner the engine was running when he began removing the accessories, but that it did need some work, although he didn't know what exactly - I do have both keys Vehicle stored near Possum Kingdom Lake, which is about 20 miles south of Graham, Texas 76450 Car does not run and will need to be trailered.
