Vehicle Detail
Time to sell off my 1957 Corvette. I have owned this car since 1987 and have used it sparingly during my ownership. This car has always been garaged and covered for the past 26 years. It's a great driver quality Corvette. It has some period modifications that were added before my ownership. Things like taillights, exhaust and interior. The engine is not original but appears to be period correct to the car. Again all of these modifications were performed prior to my ownership in 1987. The car runs and drives. It does have some choke issues but idles properly. The engine is tired and should be rebuilt. The brakes work but the E brake doesn't. The clutch is good, gearbox is good, shifter is ok. The radio & tach do not work and are not original to the car. All lights works, fuel & temp gauge doesn't. Mileage is unknown. There are no known rust issues with this car and no signs of previous rust repair. Overall solid Corvette. The fiberglass shows typical aging issue that you would find on a car like this. Original color is unknown. All chrome is original with some pitting. Stainless is all there and in good condition. Pictures at the link below show many of the flaws mentioned. This Corvette is sitting on 4 radial tires that were on the car when I purchased it in 1987. They have good tread and look great(very old though). The spare is a Bias-ply tire. The jack is included and appears to be original. The windshield is crack free along with the door glass. The hard top is in good condition and mounts securely. The rear window is good but the quarter windows are crazed. This is a hard top only car. The engine numbers reveal that this block is a 1961 Corvette 283 C.I.D 270hp, manual trans. The block casting number is 3756519. The engine serial number is 109261-F0628CU, you can see an image of this in the pics. I don't know if this engine has been changed internally. During my ownership I never opened it up. There are plenty of pictures for you to review on this listing and the link below. Please fell free to ask questions before you bid. Vehicle inspects are welcome. This 10 day auction is for your benefit. This auction will not end early. Please don't ask. It's a good solid 1957 Corvette sold as is, where is with no warranty.
