Vehicle Detail
Below is the description of buggy from previous seller, no way I could describe it better than him, enjoy. Also Trailer goes with Buggy. I have every single piece to finish the assembly on this car with the exception of the carpet and seat covers. This is by far one of the cleanest and most detailed buggies you will find on the net hands down! Body: the body on this vehicle received over 150 hours of preparation prior to receiving it final paint! It went through 4 total primers and blocks sanding sessions and is perfect in every way! It is not base coat/clear coat paint but a high end DuPont Word Class 2007 Lamborghini Tri-coat tangerine pearl. It contains a pearl white base coast and translucent orange coat and a final clear coat! I have all pictures to prove its extensive restoration process. In the light it has an opalescent yellow shine to it. Every piece was separated from the chassis and each other. All holes were filled in during the restoration process for a clean Hot Rod look! If you know anything about the Deserter buggies then you know how hard the original pieces are to find. The list of factory accessories that come with this vehicle are mind blowing! I have the original front and rear bumpers, roll bar, windshield post and gas cap! All of these items were triple coated at advanced plating in Tennessee which I feel is by far the best in the country. Let me make this point, they are all original pieces and not re-manufactured. Even though the gas filter cap was plastic, Advanced used a process to copper plated the plastic and metal chrome plate it! This car is detailed to the max. It has the original Renault Dauphine windshield which is not produced anymore. The windshield has a brand new seal as well. Good luck finding one of these windshields if needed. The rear luggage/seat area and underside of the vehicle was seal with a product called zialatone. This is the same product that GM use to use on the inside of their trucks in the 60,70. When used on fiberglass, it impregnates itself into the glass and makes the body rigid. The windshield wiper shaft holes were not filled in but capped off. I still have an original wiper arm and motor which is included. All brand new VDO gages and sending units installed. All knobs and switches are from So Cal Speed Shop and are polished aluminum Hot Rod Style. The steering wheel and column are awesome! It is the factory column powder coated, a brand new turn signal assembly, Moon Eyes Hot Rod Half Sweep tachometer, Grant Vintage Style wood steering well, Flat Four Aluminum Boss adapter and EMPI GTV Orange Horn Button. Shifter is a Flat Four Chrome Eliminator with hand carved Wood TIKI and custom Orange Sparkle Deserter by Dearborn. Headlights used on the original cars were off of late 60’s and early 70’s MGB’s. I have every single piece for the front headlight brand new never removed from the boxes and ready to be installed! I also have aftermarket style Baja style assemblies and the original assemblies for reference. The rear tail lights, front turn signals and side view mirrors and vintage style Ford. Everything is brand new and in their boxes along with the new gaskets. The factory ORGINAL (NOT REPOP!!!) sidepods have never been drilled or mounted but are fully painted and ready to be installed. I also have the original Autodynamics emblem. Pedal assemble has been totally powder coated and has an awesome cruiser pedal. Has a set of Moon Equipment lap belts and Moon Equipment React View mirror. Chassis: the chassis was disassembled down to the center tube and media blasted down to the bare metal. Brand new floor pans were wielded in the right way with angles, and brand new adjustable from beam was installed and all pieces were premiered and painted in a hammer finish. The entire inside of the pans have been coated with Dynamat for sound deadening and heat purposes. I still have a bunch of sheets left in the box which are also included. The gas tank is brand new and never had gas in it. Air horns where installed as well as an electric fuel pump. A brand new (NOT REBUILT!!) transmission was installed using heavy duty side plates. The axle tubes were separated at the shock mount and fully media blasted and powdered coated in metal silver and satin black. Factory one piece axle boots were installed and all new hardware used throughout the entire chassis. It has all brand new four wheel disc brakes and the front dies plate covers have been powder coated and pinstriped! All brand new brake lines were installed including braided stainless soft lines at each corner. The rotors were drilled too a chevy bolt pattern to use the vintage style American Racing Torque Thrust D offset wheels without the need for adapters. Wheels are tires are brand new. I have new center caps which have not been mounted. All suspension components are brand new including the KYB shocks. The car is currently not level as I was in the process of adjusting the rear ride height and the passenger side spring plate still needs to be adjusted. It also has a swing arm camber compensator that has been media blasted and powder coated. THERE IS NOTHING BROKEN ON THIS VEHICLE. Engine: this is a brand new engine built by Fisher buggies in Tampa Florida with ZERO miles on it. It is an 1835 case but was not an old case bored out to 1835 specs but a brand new 1835 case from scratch! THIS IS NOT A REBUILT MOTOR! I have well over $6,000 invested in the motor alone. EVERYTHING ON THE MOTOR IS BRAND NEW!!! NO OLD CRAP WAS USED!!! It features dual 401DF weber, powder coated manifolds, hex linkage, new 009 distributer and MSD wires, all new engine tin was ponder coated and reverse pinstriped, custom mounts were made for the electronic ignition coil and breather box. All anodized fittings were used in the build! Has a new Degree pulley and original EMPI belt guard that has been power coated and pinstriped. Valve gasket covers, air cleaners and all odds and ends have all been powder coated and majority of them pinstriped!!! The new Bosch Alternator and stand were disassembled and power coated in gloss black and pinstriped! It has an external oil filter setup with custom make braided line. The exhaust is a merger header system ceramic coated with both muffler and stinger options included. I also have a new Holly fuel pressure regulator. The motor has ZERO miles on it and has never been fired up but has been fully oiled and turned regularly! The only thing left to do to the vehicle is to install the wiring and do the interior. I have two stationary seats that fit perfect along with their adjustable seat tracks. After looking for three years, these were the only lowback style seats I could find that fit without modification. They were jump seats out of a Mack Truck. They are brand new but would probably need to be redone. I purchased this buggy in 2010, unfinished as described above and is now finished. It has 460 miles on it, looks and runs like new. The only blemish I know of is when transporting from Texas to California, my lovely wife opened rear door of Jeep and put about 1 inch scratch, see picture, I painted area and seal coated to protect until paint match repair can be made.
