Vehicle Detail
This is killing me to have to do this. My intent was to make this a father and son project. I've wanted one of these cars for a long time, but unfortunately circumstances make it imposible to keep. 1st owner went to college out of state but lived here. I'm the 3rd owner, recently purchased from 2nd owner who started to do a full frame off restoration 30 some years ago but lost interest and it's been sitting in his garage ever since ( I have a small album that documents the tear down as well as pictures of the original build sheet). It was running when parked. It needs complete restoration. As you can see from the pictures, the entire interior, wiring harness, gas tank, bumpers and brackets and the list goes on are all out, which is a major time saver towards the restoration. I believe all or most of the parts down to the nuts and bolts are there, exept the wind shield (122.24 at windshieldstogo.com), although you may want to replace some of the parts. No major rust on the metal parts just on the surface. I thought it had the original engine when I bought it but not sure now, when I looked up the numbers it appears to be a 1969 block (3956618 which as I read was the same on the 1969 Z28 block- the # on front of the engine were very faint and appear to read VO1I4EB), I'm not to sure how all the numbers work or if a 1971 would have an engine with 1969 numbers, or if I miss read the translation. The numbers didn't really matter to me since it was going to be a total restoration, I wanted to put a fuel injected crate motor in it. I took one of the valve covers off and the engine is very clean inside. The body is overall good with the exception of the right rear where as seen in the pictures there is a crack and some small chips, also some spider web cracks the worst being on the hood and passenger side door. I have two liscence plates, one is like new and never used. It hasn't been registered since 1978( last sticker is 1977 on plate) so it's no longer on the books and the pink was lost in a move so it will be a bill of sale only. I'll provide all other documentation I have including an old registration. The vehichle will have to be taken to the DMV with the bill of sale to register it. I don't have the means to do that since I sold my truck and don't have a trailer. This is a good solid car and deserves someone who can get it out of the garage and put it back on the road. This is a NO reserve auction. Please look over the pictures carefully and if you have any questions feel free to email me or call Mark at 661-340-2311. Lots of interest as seen by the number of views and nearly 100 watchers. Bid with confidence and check my 100 % positive feedback.
