Vehicle Detail
1967 Peugeot 204B This car was not imported officially into the United States in 1967 as the 404 and other models. A professor from the University of Idaho in Moscow took a trip to France and on the trip bought the car and had it modified to US specs and had it shipped to Seattle, WA. He picked the car up and it resided in Moscow, Idaho until 2012. I have all the papers that show the import for this car. The manual is not in great shape. This car is very clean considering its age. It was last licensed in 1996. The engine started and ran with starting fluid. No strange noises, it ran very smooth. I started to buy new parts for seized up parts (hydro parts), you will note there are some parts missing as I am in the process of installing a new brake master cylinder and clutch cylinder and slave. I think this car was given up on as it was very hard to find parts for. Now with the internet, I have been able to find what I need and start to get it road worthy again. The interior is dry, I did find a kit to recover the seats. I didn't buy it yet however. The transmission seems to shift smoothly. The exhaust needs redone. This engine is strange as the transmission is in the oil sump for the engine. It is a very small engine. I power washed it and did not see any exterior rust and the door sills are all in great shape. I don't think it would take too much to get this going again. If it doesn't sell, I will just garage it and work on it again someday when I have more time and funds to do so. But I know that this car is not common in the US so it might round out your Peugeot collection!
