Vehicle Detail
Due to the amount of interest I have had, I have it in my mind to sell this bike. So here we go: This is one of the most unique motorcycles you will ever come across. The story begins when I fell in love with the ALP Concept "Kursed" Triumph and I just had to have one for my own. This is a very mechanical and raw aesthetic machine. This is a vintage salt flat racer style race bike that I have converted into a road bike. This is a clean, stripped down, no frills, "Munro Special" type of motorcycle. Lovingly referred to as "Dutchess". This vision started with a Triumph pre unit 650cc engine mated to the proper "Slick Shift" 4-speed trans that I had been hoarding for the right project. Built to 745cc/76mm using the "Sonny Routt" big bore cylinders and Hepolite pistons @ 9:1 compression. This engine is extremely STRONG! Tight from top to bottom, valves to crank. Running a splayed port head and twin Amal Monoblocs. This is an alternator engine and is properly wiring to the vintage "Mity Max" battery eliminator for running lights. No sloppy wiring or scotch take! Everything heat shrunk and crimped. Running lights using battery eliminator means bulbs increase in brightness with rpm's in case you are unaware of this style set up. Very clean look! The frame is a stock 1955 Triumph Pre Duplex hoop mated to a "bolt on" cradle/tail section built by The Factory Metal Works. The frame is 100% straight and ROCK SOLID. Everything was clear coated to highlight the factory brazing and casting numbers. Beautiful frame geometry and proper alignment. Tank is a brand new Wassell style tank from Low Brow Customs. Raw steel. Front end is an early Royal Enfield military girder. Much like those seen on many salt flat bikes at Bonneville circa 1950's. It is also clear coated using a vintage "Griffin" headlight and amber bulb. Neck bearing are brand new Timken bearings and races as opposed to ball bearings. Wheels are Akront shouldered rims. 19" front with spool and 16" rear laced to chromed Triumph hub/brake assembly. New tires. Seat is a worn and beaten vintage '60's era Bates that I picked up in the back corner of a buddies shop floor. Worked out perfect for this bike. This is a very simple, lightweight and attention GRABBING machine. This bike will steal the show hands down. Bike sounds MEAN AS HELL through the vintage "Rocky" cocktail shaker trumpets. This is NOT a beginner bike. The bike is titled TO ME as a 1955 Triumph T100 and the original frame numbers and very legible to match the title. The engine cases are stamped to match frame as well. Note worth imperfections: Only flaw I can speak of is the bike will leave a spot of oil under it when stored, ridden or basically any time. Not a huge surprise with a 60 year old British bike. Though not from the engine or pushrod tubes as is typical. Usually just a few drips from the crank case breather vent tube. I stick an old hub cap under it and forget about it. To close, the bike is sitting as a display item in my shop. Bike has not seen much road time. Mostly sits around as a trophy for people to admire. Every now and then I fire it up and blast down the road. It usually starts on the 2nd or 3rd kick cold, 1 kick warmed up. Shifts smooth and THIS BIKE WILL FLY!!!!! Rear brakes only so be aware of that when you roll back on the throttle. If you are within driving distance I would be more than happy (and encourage you) to stop in so I can show you the bike in person and inspect it yourself. Considering the amount of very hard to find vintage items on this bike as well as the combination of time and effort building it, I can safely say you cannot build another motorcycle like this for the price. To those who require shipping, I prefer to use haulbikes.com. This is entirely up to you. I will work with your shipper regardless. For those international buyers who have concerns about storing the motorcycle until pick up can be arranged, no worries. The bike will be covered and stored safely in my shop until I roll it into the transport agents care. SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY PLEASE! LOTS OF TIME AND BLOODY KNUCKLES BUILT THIS MOTORCYCLE! NOT EXTREMELY MOTIVATED TO SELL! Feel free to give me a call if you have any further specific questions or concerns. (812)631-9244. Cheers. Will entertain serious offers.
