Vehicle Detail
1966 Ford Mustang 200 CU 6 Cylinder Automatic, Arkansas car, Restoration needs to be completed. I researched the VIN# and learned this was originally a 3 speed standard from the factory. Original paint color was Maroon but is now in Black Primer. Interior is Black. Most of the Chrome trim and emblems were removed by the previous owner before it was sprayed in primer and all pieces that I received will be included in this sale. I have not inventoried the pieces to confirm if all are there, but do have some duplicate pieces. Restoration has been started and I bought the car to finish restoring, but do not have the time. THE GOOD: I was told this car was originally purchased in AR and the only rust issue that I've found is at the top of the rear fenders (only minor). Previous repairs were done with welded metal on 1 side and bondo on the other. Floors, doors, trunk are all solid. The previous owner added new air shocks on the rear, replaced the fuel pump, starter, hoses, spark plug wires and said the gas tank and radiator had been flushed. Glass is intact. The car appears to have the original interior: Wood trimmed steering wheel, front seats are cracked, rear seat is good condition, carpet is in good condition, head liner has been removed. The odometer shows 24114 miles but I cannot confirm if this is actual or if it is 124114 miles. Engine runs good (no smoke) and transmission shifts correctly. HISTORY; The previous owner said that the Nephew of the original owner received this car from his Aunt, that it sat for 12 years and that there were 2 names on the title when he purchased the car. Due to this, the AR state revenue office showed mileage as Exempt when he re-titled. When I purchased and titled the car a few months ago, I asked the Revenue office for a title history to see the progression of mileage listed for each year, but was told they were not able to provide that information. I know there are companies on-line that can research and provide this information for a fee, but I have not pursued it. The car runs and drives but will need to be trailered to it's new home due to the condition of the brakes and tires. THE OPPORTUNITIES: I drove the car home (approximately 15 miles) when purchased in Nov '12. The brakes need attention and the headlights do not presently work. Headlights may just need to be replaced because the marker lights, brake lights and turn signals DO WORK. The heater motor, horn and radio (not original) also are not working (may just need fuses but not sure). There are 4 matching Chrome wheels (some surface rust) 3 are shown in the pictures; the 4th is in the trunk, the spare on the front passenger side. Bumpers are solid but are not shiny Chrome; appearance is more like Nickel vs Chrome and do not look bad. Doors and windows need new rubber and felt. I have tried to describe the vehicle as honestly and as thoroughly as possible, but may have missed something so please ask questions before bidding. Body and interior are not perfect, but this is a solid car and should not take much to become a daily driver or the collector car you've always wanted. I have seen rusty, non-running cars listed around my asking price, so please look closely at this car! Listed for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction early. Local pickup only/Buyer responsible for transportation. I will not sell outside the Continental United States. Full payment due within 7 days after auction ends; Cash or U.S. Certified Cashiers Check only! No warranty, sold as is where is. All sales final. Thank you for looking. I have reduced my Reserve amount and am relisting the car. On Mar-02-13 at 16:28:16 PST, seller added the following information: 2 revisions: Rear bumper is actually stil shiny Chrome, not dull from sanding like the front bumper. The rear fender on the driver's side shows signs of previous rust repair along the sides also, not just the top as previously noted. I wanted to clarify.
