Vehicle Detail
As seen on TV’s “TOP GEAR,” in HOT ROD Magazine and featured in the 2012 CarQuest national calendar. This 1970 Mustang Fastback has undergone a five-year restoration to turn it into the ultimate muscle car, offering incredible performance, reliability, killer good looks and razor sharp handling on the autocross and in the canyons. Features the best parts money can buy and professional setup and preparation. This car handles better than most new sports cars and gets more looks than a Ferrari. Features include: - Freshly built 351C 4V with forged pistons, crower rods, Isky solid cam, ported and polished heads with stainless valves, full ARP fasteners, all oil passages modified for maximum oiling, plueprinted melling high volume pump, custom Aviad fully baffled 8qt road race oil pan and Cobra oil cooler and remote oil filter. Makes 410 horsepower and 390 lb/ft of torque. - New Keisler RS 5-Speed transmission with SPEC stage IV clutch, hydraulic throwout bearing and Hurst shifter. New Ford 9-inch rear end with new 3.50 gears, new Moser 31-spline forged axles, new “soft locker” limited slip unit. Setup for street/canyon use – cruising at 70mph on the freeway the car is only taching 2,200 in 5th gear but still pulls VERY strong off the line. - New Borgeson steering system with late-model quick ratio power steering, KRC adjustable pump and Shelby power steering fluid cooler. - All new road-race style suspension, including Maier Racing A-Arms with improved geometry and camber curve, Cobra Automotive sway bar, Maeco Motorsports steering and strut rods with spherical bearings, Maier sport springs front and rear, Race Car Dynamics (RCD) tuned Bilstein shocks. All setup by world-famous Shelby and Cobra shop Maeco Motorsports. - New very special dash pulled from the original Bud Moore Racing mold used to make th dashes for the Parnelli Jones and George Follmer 1970 Trans-Am Championship Boss 302 Mustangs, finished in camera case crinkle paint and filled with all new old stock Stewart Warner gauges, including speedo, tach, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, amp meter and fuel. All work beautifully, including lights. - Other features include an all-new interior completely prepped with Dynamat, new carpet, new Procar seats, all new interior panels and trim, new headliner, “brushed nickel” finished bumpers and door handles, American Racing 200S 17” wheels, new wiring, Hooker headers with dual 3” Magnaflow stainless exhaust and more. - Boss 302 chin spoiler, rear spoiler, rear window louvers, and custom Boss 302 stripes (painted on hood, vinyl on sides) mounted lower on the rocker like the Parnelli and Follmer cars, as opposed to stock location. - The undercarriage is as immaculate as the top of the car. Zero rust, straight as an arrow, excellent condition. There are some very tiny (sesame seed size) rock chips in the front apron and headlight buckets from normal highway use, these have been touched up and are very hard to see. - The stock AM Philco radio is included but is not currently hooked up, and the heater is not currently hooked up either to make the engine compartment as clean as possible, but could be done so easily. Everything else works, and is in perfect condition. This car could be driven anywhere without a second thought.
