We had been waiting on this call for 3 years and when it came it was like a bolt of electricity shocked my system. Sometimes you feel like you'll never get what you want and at that time the call may come. This beautiful Karmann Ghia convertible had been sequestered to a side lot for eons. There had actually been a wall constructed between the ghia and its freedom. And today friends, the wall would come down. Armed with a framing hammer, the uncle of the owner removed the half dozen nails keeping the ghia in its bond. An eight foot section of fence was removed and the small convertible saw the open road for the first time in half a decade. The previous owner was a kind and religious man. He had asked god to help him build his hot rod VW and once again if he could please sell it. It was our lucky day as we pushed it out on the street and hooked up the tow rope. The man had painstakingly restored every nut and bolt on the ghia before it entered its slumber. The engine and transmission had been rebuilt using the finest materials available. A full set VDO gauges adorned the dash. The interior was beautiful and the carpet looks as new. There is a high powered stereo system with beautifully installed speakers delicately molded into the interior. The paint job sparkled brilliantly even though it had not had seen a touch of soap or wax in many moons. There is some body filler and it is visible in the pictures. The paint job is solid and will make the next owner proud. The man told us the guy he got it from was as tall as a tree and had completely removed the top and rack. It is nowhere to be seen in this deal. The title states it is a convertible and the mounting brackets for the rack are present. I can't stress enough how clean this little ghia is. It will make anybody stop, stare, and smile. Even after its long dormancy it fired up with just a hot battery. The exhaust system sings a sweet note. This car is hard to find at this price.
