I am selling my beautiful triple black 2001 SL500 with a great low mile running engine and 18 inch AMG wheels. This car looks really good inside and outside, the top goes up and down nicely with a touch of a button and the interior is in excellent shape. The engine fires right up and purs like a kitten. However, this car is sold as a PROJECT. Perfect car to restore or maybe best for parts to fix your SL. Still needs front end body work (just the radiator and headlight support, plus some frame pulling) and the transmission doesn't engage in the forward gears. Reverse works fine (towing and transport are the responsibility of the winning bidder). I started some work on it already and replaced some parts. Here is what I have i done and is included in the auction: Both front fenders and hood replaced, hood hinges replaced, great looking original Mercedes grill installed, new AMG2 style after market front bumper installed, right/left headlights and side lights purchased (tested and work, but only set in place for the picture. They are not installed), drivers steering wheel air bag replaced. I am also throwing in the nice looking black hood bra shown in the pictures. I have the bumper part of the bra too, but I can't seem to get it to fit on the after market bumper. The wheels are 18 inch AMG. They are included but two of the tires do not hold air. I have also started the Califonia DMV paperwork and the temporary registration receipt is in my name. All fees have been paid (you will only pay the transfer fee if you choose to register it in your name here in CA) I do have the CA title in hand signed with the insurance companies name on it. Additionally, I am not a mechanic and purchased the car as is. It is being sold as is too. If you are local I highly encourage you, or your mechanic, to come inspect the car PRIOR to bidding, just incase I have missed something. Also, if you are an out of state bidder, please check your DMV PRIOR to bidding to make sure you can register this car in your state. Some states won't allow you to do so. $500.00 Paypal deposit due within 24 hours of auction ending. Balance due in cash or major bank cashiers check within 7 days of auction close. If you are local you don't have to use Paypal for the deposit, but I still need to have the deposit within 24 hours of auction close.
