Here's a used older style 1972 Ford Econoline Super Van that I'm selling for my son who is moving up north and can't take it with him. He bought it about 5 years and 10,000 miles ago and used it mainly to haul his motorcycles. Here's what I know about it after talking to him and if you have any questions I can contact him to get you the answers. It has a good running Ford 302 V-8 engine with a re-manufactured Motorcraft 2 barrel carburetor and HEI distributor & new spark plugs with plug wires. A lot of work was done 3 years ago to make it roadworthy and here's his list of what was done:The automatic transmission was completely rebuiltThe brakes were done front & rearThe cooling system was gone through including a new 3 core radiator, water pump, belts and hoses Recently he replaced all the tires with 700x15 and it has some 'old school' Western aluminum rims on it. The battery, ignition switch, alternator,starter solenoid, and U-joints have also been replaced in the past few months. The engine has headers installed with dual Thrush mufflers and downdraft shorty tailpipes at the rear near the rear wheel. It has a nice mellow but throaty sound. Here's a couple things that I noticed since taking possession of it: There is no radio, heater, or wipers. The inside has some old carpeting on the floorboards front & rear. The doghouse is missing some bolts that hold it to the floor. The steering wanders and probably needs some bushings but I haven't had it checked by a mechanic. The driver's side door was changed by the previous owner and there is no key for that door and all the others are lockable with a key that I have. The right rear fender is damaged and there is a scrape in the side door. Also, a small area of rust at the bottom of the passenger door. Lastly, the seats need to be re-upholstered as shown in the photos. It has a trailer hitch and wiring at the taillights and a locking gas cap. Look closely at the 21 photos in the listing to see the vehicle's condition. Overall, it would be a good vehicle for a gardener, plumber, painter, handyman or anyone that needs to keep their equipment stored and locked inside. Also, it would make a good daily driver or an excellent candidate for a restoration. It is registered until December 31, 2013 and is Smog Exempt here in California!
