Vehicle Detail

Up for grabs is about the nicest 1975 Chevy Van 20 in existences. What a blast from the past. An all original, solid iconic time capsule. Really! ORIGINAL! Has only traveled a bit over 96,000 miles in her 38 years. I recently bought this van from the estate of a fellow who babied this thing like it was his child. Always garaged and never driven in the snow much, if at all! It’s been in the same family since 1981 as told to me by the son. I see little to no rust in this van and no evidence of body or paint work. It’s an original survivor. ALL ORIGINAL! The body is dead straight with no dents even! Maybe a nick or ding but you’d really have to look for them. About the only flaw on the exterior are the three stripes of reflective tape on the front doors. They are aged, still there, but old. Easily could be covered up with new tape or remove completely. You have to look close. Really no big deal. It’s powered by its original 5.7 liter V8, 350 Cubic inch engine that’s as quiet as a church mouse. The automatic transmission shifts fine. Newer tires, with the nubs still on them and set of beautiful chrome 15 inch deep set wheels. All the chrome and trim are way above average. The bumpers, I dare say, are like new. The grill, mint! Lights turn signals brake lights, all work fine. The glass all way above average. The side widows slide open for those warm camp out nights. The past owner installed a push guard on the front, fog lights, CB Radio (no microphone was found), but does work and trailer brakes with a heavy duty trailer hitch that was never used. The old radio shack radio does not work. The running boards have little slit lights that light up when you turn on the headlights. I also have the factory owner’s manual and info on the conversion.(How everything works.) I also found the original 1975 Nebraska IN TRANSIT stickers! Too cool! This van was sent by GM to RI Inc.,( Recreational Vehicles Inc) in Warren Ohio for its conversion. Inside you’ll find original mint condition wood paneling, tuck and roll type brown vinyl, and a swirl design tough ceiling finish. See pictures. It has 4 captains chairs in what your grandmothers’ sofa had for material and all that shag carpet! There is a refrigerator and sink. In the back is a table with seating around it to fit maybe 4 people. All folds down to a bed. Under those seats is the storage container for water that emulates from the sink. A power cord is tucked inside an exterior door to power the interior of the van. All the wall light fixtures work as well as a small fan on the sink table. I’m not sure if the fridge works or if the sink still works either. Ill plug her in Monday and check the fridge. To sum it up this is really a wonderfully ORIGINAL clean Van/recreational vehicle with a lot of retro 70’s appeal that is still fully operational and runs out great. It is 38years old though so I must sell it as is. Please have someone you trust check it out for you if you desire or just really look at the photos, and trust my perfect feedback. I may get a little windy in my description, but when it comes to spending money you can never have too much info. Zero, negative feedback, or out of country bidders need to contact me first before bidding or I will cancel your bid. I’m starting this van at a very reasonable opening bid and no reserve. So high bidder gets it! Remember they’re only original once and I doubt if there is another one like this one in the country! Any questions please feel free to call any time. Bernie 402 659 1118 Thanks and good luck!! On Feb-21-13 at 10:35:34 PST, seller added the following information: Id like to add that the refridgerator in the van, I don't think is electric. I think its just a cooler that resembles a refreigerator. It has a nice front door with the rubber seal, and a white plastic inside with an upper tray that has a drain tube for melting ice I guess, that exits through the sink drain. Its positioned under the sink. It is factory installed by the Conversion company. There in a thick power cord rolled up in a compartment on the drivers side exterior that you would plug in at a campsite but I'm not sure what that would power?? I'm sure it has a purpose though. I hate to sound ignorant but these vans aren't my forte! I wouldn't classify this as a motor home per say. Just a factory conversion van with options inside of it to accomidate campers in lieu of camping outside in a tent, 1975 era! A very clean well kept van. You should not be disappointed with this van. Its really one of a kind!On Feb-22-13 at 12:51:47 PST, seller added the following information: To answer a few questions I've had....That is a tachometer on the dash and yes it does work. The captains chairs do swivel. There is nothing in the storage closet but a pole to hang clothes on. It is paneled and carpeted in there too. There are no cracks in the dash either. There is a bit of wear on the drivers side floor shag carpet where you drag your feet in and out of the drivers seat. Very common. Floor mats are original vintage "Chevy Van" cartoon. No I wont sell them separately. They've been in the van for years and while I own it...that's were they will stay. They look perfect in this van! Thanks for the questions and keep on truckin'...I mean biddin"!!
