This 1958 MGA has been refurbished to an excellent driver condition. It was recently pulled from a shed in Albuquerque NM, where it sat dormant, without being driven for 32 years. The gas tank was removed, flushed, painted and found to have no corrosion. After cleaning the fuel system and carbs, and lubricating the cylinders, the engine fired up immediately on the first try. It runs smooth and strong, idles nicely, and does not smoke, a true testament to the dry climate of New Mexico. All clutch and brake hydraulics have been rebuilt and work perfectly. All the gauges are working. Original factory paint color was a deep red. The older repaint has been touched up and buffed to a high luster, but still has lots of patina, cracking, and chipping around the edges. It can be driven and enjoyed as is, but really should eventually be repainted to take it to a higher level for show. It has two isolated areas of rust, these will be easy repairs, one hole in the trunk floor needs to be patch welded (no need to replace the floor), the other is the right side rocker (left side is rust free), see photos. Rocker and front bottom corner of quarter panel need replacing. These two replacement panels are available from Moss Motors for $65 each. The rest of the body and chassis are rust free. With 40 years experience restoring exotic cars, I can provide these repairs in my restoration shop for parts and labor fees following your purchase, if you decide. It has 4 brand new chrome wire wheels (correct 48 spoke) cost $1400, new Vredestein tires, new convertible top, new mirrors, and more. The top frame is original and perfect, the side curtains are original and need attention. Weather seals need replacing. All fluids have been renewed including, engine oil, transmission, differential, hydraulics, and grease fittings. This is a great looking and strong running MG for someone who enjoys tinkering and minor sorting to achieve perfection. Inspections are welcome in Taos, NM. I have a clear NM title ready to sign over to you. Buyer is responsible for shipping or pick up. I will load the car, in Taos, onto your transport. $750 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction closing, remainder is due by secured funds within 7 days of closing and before pickup.
