Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa in Prussian Blue with tan interior. This is a very nice example of the late eighties 911 and in my opinion is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. I purchased the vehicle just over a year ago and had fully planned on holding onto it but unfortunately must sell, for no fault of the vehicle! The color itself is quite rare but very nice; it can have the appearance of a dark navy blue in some lights, and a purplish metallic in others. The interior is a light tan, with a black dash. The interior is in very good condition, with no cracks on the dash whatsoever which are fairly common on these vintage 911s. Within my ownership I have done some important maintenances and I can proudly say that this Porsche is mechanically in excellent condition, with just over 85k miles on it. Since I had purchased the car for the long term, I did the following services to make sure it was in tip top condition: Oil and filter change, changed all spark plug wires, spark plugs, distributor cap, air filter, fuel filter, and a full valve adjustment. Additionally as is very common with this vintage Porsches, the car leaked a few drips from the driver’s side oil return tubes, both of these have been replaced and the car does not use or leak any oil. The car starts up immediately and runs excellently with great power and also shifts very well with fresh shifter bushings. The car passed the emissions test when I had it registered with flying colors. The steering is on-center, and very precise on the car and is very fun to drive! The targa top is original, and in excellent condition. All four shocks/struts were replaced, although only one needed replacement. In short, you are bidding on a very nice 1986 911 that for the most part has been well sorted and is ready to enjoy! In the interest of full transparency, there are some blemishes I'd point out. First, there are some rock chips/nicks in the paint, especially in the front end, very common for a car that is 27 years old. Otherwise the body is very straight with no door dings. The passenger side and front bumper have been painted at some point, and unfortunately the clear is peeling from the edges in some spots. The previous owner advised it had been keyed at one point which was the reason for the repaint; I verified all body panels are original. The Fuchs wheels are in good condition; with no curb rash whatsoever on any of them! Beautiful wheels - the fronts do have some wear spots where the black is fading (can be seen in the pics below). The tires are Bridgestone Potenzas in excellent condition with plenty of tread left(about 80%). There is one rust spot on the bottom of the rear bumper on the very passenger side which can be seen in the pics, could be repaired very easily and it has not expanded. I've tried to make as transparent a representation as possible on this beautiful car and although I am sad to let it go, this will make a great car for someone who is a fan of this era of 911s. I am also available if you'd like to inspect the car in person, and do have the car for sale locally so reserve the right to end the auction early. Please don't hesitate to send me an email if you have any questions at all, and good luck bidding!
