Vehicle Detail
1971 GMC Stepside Van configured as an Ice Cream Truck. All mechanical systems have been serviced or replaced… new shocks, springs, brakes, steering components and gas tank. Engine has been compression checked (all OK) and serviced. Carburetor has been rebuilt. Transmission has been serviced and is in good condition. New battery. Mileage is unknown. We purchased the vehicle for its nostalgic look to use for a promotional vehicle. In order to make it safe we invested $4000 in mechanical repairs. This is the truck only- there is no ice cream freezer included. Our plans have since changed and we no longer need the vehicle. The vehicle is located near downtown Columbus, Ohio and can be seen by contacting me to make arrangements. Sold as is. No warranties of any type. Buyer is responsible for picking up the vehicle. Cash, cashiers check or major credit cards accepted. The vehicle is owned by Blue Chip Broadcasting, Ltd- you will be paying them directly, not me. On Feb-11-13 at 07:26:53 PST, seller added the following information: I have had many questions regarding this truck… I will try to answer them all here… · There is no 120 volt wiring in the truck, so no outlets · We never put the truck into service. Our plans changed midway through the mechanical work. I have no idea what operating costs might be. · I have copies of the service bills for the work that we did. I have no records prior to our ownership of the truck · There are no freezers of any sort. No music box or inverters. · The side window slides horizontally, it does not roll up. · It has an Ohio title and is classified as a GMC Side Step Truck. · This truck is corporately owned- we are not interested in any trades. · The windshield wipers are not operational. The passenger side arm and blade are missing entirely. I do not know if the motors operate or not. · The heater core has been bypassed. The fan inside the truck blows air, but since the core has been bypassed there is no heat. · The headlights, brake lights and turn signals all work. · Steering is manual, no power assist · There are no seat belts- there probably never were given the model year. · The side door has a simple slide bolt on it that you can open from the outside. · The tires are mismatched- three of them are good, one is fair, none are dry rotted · I have personally driven the truck- it is road worthy. I drove it across the Ohio State campus- the truck really turns heads!
