Vehicle Detail
I hate to do this but up for sale is my 1952 Ford F6 dump truck. I've had this old truck for quite a while and use it weekly. It originally came out of Rapid City south Dakota. It was a county truck, then bought by a rancher and used to haul firewood and rock and then I bought it. It has an original, all steel, "Herculese" dump bed on it. It has the rear gate that allows you to spread rock, which it does well. This is one, solid, heavy duty bed . It has a single ram hoist that works perfect. I've had just over 6 tons of rock on it and it dumps effortlessly. It has a rebuilt 239ci flathead engine that starts and runs excellent. No smoke and it uses no oil. Brakes are in good condition. It has a 4 speed transmission with the two speed rear axle that functions as it should. The headlights work but it has no signals and only one brake light. The tires are old re-treads that hold air well and really are in ok condition. The cab has surface rust and dents and dings but zero rust through. The floors and cab corners are solid as a rock. Again, this has no rust through anywhere in the cab or bed or frame. The heater works but it has no wipers. the windshield has two cracks and the driver's window is cracked but the vent windows and passenger window is perfect. I have a set of rear, tire chains for it and some spare parts. She's been worked her whole life, as you can see but maintained well and still very usable. I've hauled wood, junk, rock, sand, mulch, leaves...you name it. This truck starts in the coldest of weather and has NEVER let me down. It would be great on a ranch or farm but it's small enough to use around town. The truck shifts and drives great for what it is. You have to remember that it's 60 years old and built the way trucks used to be...SOLID! It doesn't drive like a new truck. You have to double clutch it and it has now power steering! Also, it's geared really low and tops out at about 50mph. This truck draws a crowd everywhere you go. It's cool looking and is still very usable. "Old Yeller" has turned into a real celebrity here in town and at the quarry and dump!! People love to see it coming and working. Might be good advertisement for a business too. I've made a lot of money hauling with this little truck. It's amazing that after all of these years, it's still functioning and working the way it was intended to. Clear Kansas title in my name. ASK QUESTIONS!!! I want whoever gets this truck to be happy with it...no surprises but please use your brain as to what the truck is and what you should expect before bidding. *** I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime for any reason. The truck is for sale locally as well *** Buyer to pay all of the shipping charges but I will help with the loading. Also, I can store it for a while as long as it's paid for. $500 deposit due within 24 hours, balance due in 72 hours of auction closing. Please do not bid if you don't really want it or cannot pay. It costs money to list things here so if you have no feedback, you need to email me first before biddingOn Jan-28-13 at 16:20:50 PST, seller added the following information: ***The engine is a 239ci flathead V8****
