This was previously sold but there was a problem with the buyer not the v ehicle. 1962 Ford Galaxie 500XL Convertible for restoration. Engine ran four years ago......no brakes....no power now. Data plate indicates it is originally a white car with red vinyl interior......352....automatic. There is a clear title on this vehicle. It is a true XL from California with the complete original 352 under the hood. It is an easy restoration for those of us who do this kind of thing. It is a pretty solid car. Most of all it is a complete car....just about everything is in my package. The front windshield is cracked. All four side windows work as they should and have nice original glass. All trim is on the car and is in great shape. The body is very restorable as is but I am including with the car: both correct doors, both fenders, deck lid, and hood.......these are all rust free as they have had all places repaired professionally and are just about ready for painting....all welding done right.....excellent. So as there is not a misunderstanding these are not the ones on the car but extra ones I have done all the work on. I was going to restore the car and had these ready to use. The frame is fine. The rear quarters need minor work. The floor and trunk are solid with the exception of a couple of small rust throughs in the usual spots - the visible rust is surface only. I have not cut these out but included with the car are cut outs that were taken from another vehicle to be used as repair pieces. Also included with the car are all the items I removed from it....to make it complete. The carpet and seats were removed to pinpoint the problems. Exterior is missing one XL rear quarter emblem and two hubcaps....these are included. Engine compartment is complete. Top frame is fine - missing top motor and pistons included. Jack also included. Interior......included are; all door handles and cranks....any door panels not on car......all rear armrests and side top arm covers, both front buckets....bottom and top rear seat.......rear seat back top chrome along with rear speaker grill plus anything else that was missed. By the way, all seats are in very excellent condition but should be recovered. For someone who knows what they are doing, this is a nice package. Also included is a professionally restored ++++++rolling frame for a showcar for this vehicle. It is painted and finished with: Powder coated rims - five of them including a spare with matching tire , tires, drums, all brake work done as new, all SS brake and gas lines, rebuilt steering box, full rebuilt power steering equipment both the slave cylinder and power control valve were recently rebuilt by LARES (These three rebuilds were over $1000 alone), new shocks, new rear springs, rebuilt rear end with new bearings and seals, powder coated bumper brackets, complete front suspension( powder coated) rebuilt with new coils, new bushings, new ball joints, new idler arm, new tie rods and ends,.... +++++++ New motor mounts....all emergency brake cables and hardware even a balanced driveshaft which is included. This is a convertibleX frame. I planned to finish the above listed body on its frame and then transfer it to this restored frame. The frame on the bid car is usable - I had an extra frame so I decided to do it this way. This would really shorten your time and cost on this project. This is what I planned to use for this restoration - I do nothing but quality work. The complete rolling frame is also included with the car for the bid price to the high bidder. I also have decided to include the following in the bid price: front bucket seat foam........complete front and rear upholstery kit (red and correct) ....both upholstery and foam from Dearborn.......rechromed show quality front and rear bumpers Paid $1000)..........Brand new padded red dash ........from Dennis Carpenter..(paid $800)........Brand new set of red correct front and rear door panels done by SMS in Oregon (paid close to $1000).........Brand new custom red boot correct with heat impressions custom made for this car (paid $500). I also have considerable other NOS and quality used parts for this vehicle for sale. Having started, I am forced to discontinue my efforts on this restoration for personal reasons. My loss is your gain as this vehicle completed properly will be worth circa $25,000 in todays market. With this package you would be able to finish this car at a bargain price, to say the least.
