This car was purchased by my parents new from Hamby Chevrolet in Hillsboro, OR in 1967. It is the economy model Chevelle that has less frills and is lighter weight than the hardtop or SS models. The 300 is a rare model today because most of these were acquired by drag racers over the years due to the lighter weight and 2-door sedan or "post" body style. The car originally came with a 250 ci 6 cylinder engine, but my father changed it to a 283 ci V-8 at some point. I do not know the year model of the engine. It has power steering and power brakes. I got the car from my mother several years ago when she stopped driving. Until I got it, it was always kept in a carport or garage. I am selling it because I do not have a place to keep it out of the weather and do not want to see it deteriorate just sitting around. I have driven it about 15,000 miles. It runs and drives just fine. The transmission is the 2-speed Powerglide automatic. The original radio has been replaced by an inexpensive cassette player radio. There are no broken or chipped windows. There are no rattles and the entire body is nice and solid. The engine has cast aluminum Corvette valve covers and tubing headers with dual exhaust, but I do not know if the engine is truly a Corvette. Since it has a two-barrel carburetor, I rather doubt it. This is a really great, solid car that would make a great street machine from the height of the muscle car era, or, with a 250 engine, could be restored stock. I wish I had the time and money to fix it up myself. REVISION: Part of my condition information that I originally placed in the ad got lost, so I am adding it here in a revision. There is a rust hole in the front floorboard on the driver's side (see picture of green insert in floor mat). There is a small rust spot on the right side of the rear window as shown in another picture, and there is a rust spot on the bottom of the right front fender as shown in a closeup picture. The upholstery shows up blue in the pictures, but is actually black. The sunroof needs a new gasket as the current one has a small leak.
