The vehicle offered here is a very good and untouched project Westy. Good rust free examples are getting scarce, especially diesels. Unfortunately, the one offered here broke a timing belt, which usually means that you will need a complete engine rebuild. From looking through the receipts it appears as though the she was well maintained and has recent service in the last few years for approx $2,500 (included). Some of the items listed are: -3-16-07 *Replace radiator/lower hose/water hose/replace head-gasket/replace timing belt $1,132.48 -10/20/07 *New brake master cylinder/fuel cap and regular service/filters, etc. $716.00 -12/08/2010 *Replace valve cover gasket/drive belt/ adjust brakes $294.87 -3/18/11 *Remove timing cover and check engine $80 .........and that seems to be the last time it was running. According to the receipts the timing belt was changed not to long ago, so your guess is as good as ours as to why it broke? We have made no attempt to start this vehicle and don't plan to. It will be up to the new owner/mechanic to do what they like with it. Regardless, when it is done it be be a blast to own. There is no other info that we can provide regarding the mechanical condition other than the brakes stop the van. The non-working odometer is showing 101k miles. We cannot speculate as to what the actual miles are, or when the odometer stopped working. The body is 100% solid. The underbelly is completely rust free as well as the rest of the van. The paint is untouched. There are various cosmetic flaws, but most importantly the body is rust free and original. The pictures depict the actual condition.
