On July 13, 1971 a 70 year old gentleman from Portland OR, walked into a BMW dealer and purchased this beautiful silver R75/5, how long he owened it, I'm not sure but four other lucky people owned it including myself. The motorcycle spent its entire life in Portland until last summer when I flew up and bought it from the forth owner who had it for less than a year. He picked it up from a motorcycle safety instructor who added the new Michelin's, Wilbers rear shocks, progressive front springs, gel battery and H4 headlight. The second owner was a german lady who maintained it very well, there are records back to 1998 - 2006 from Steve's Bavarian Motorcycle Service in the file. The bike had 22,522 miles on it when I acquired it and I have added 2192, the majority of those from my incredible ride from Portland to Phoenix. The bike road and handled perfectly, I camped along the the way and she was a great traveling companion. I have changed the oil, cleaned her up and she's ready for the next adventure. As for me, on to my 53' R67/2. This is not a "show bike" this is a rider, she is 42 years old and has the usual lovely patina one would expect.
