Nice restorable '68 Satellite, it's driven daily. Factory 225 cid single bbl slant six car, automatic, manual steering, manual brakes, heater, thumbwheel AM radio, A/C delete. Factory Avacado Green metallic with two tone green interior. It has had a recent tune up, fresh carb re-build, original fuel tank was thoroughly cleaned and re-installed. Ethanol treatment is used in every tank of gas, so there will be no problems from the garbage gas we are forced to buy here in Florida. RUNNING GEAR: Engine is dependable with no noises, but does have a sticky valve producing a rough idle, once you touch the accelerator, it smooths right out. I would start by adjusting the valves, as they seem way too tight for a slant six (can't hear the normal tapping sound). Tranny is very good and shifts nice and tight like it should. 7.25 rear end is noise free. Brakes work well and are smooth, all lines are in good shape. The car rides very good, but it does need a passenger side ball joint or tie rod as the camber is off on the pass side front wheel. Tires have lots of tread. Spare needs to be replaced. Heater core is bypassed, so we assume it needs a new one. Cooling system is in very good shape. INTERIOR: Seat upholstery is original and in fantastic shape, with a few marks on the back of the front seat. Carpet is original and worn/discolored. Door panels are great, but the driver's side front door panel is curling up at the bottom. Headliner is shot. Dash pad is nice, plastic on dash has crazing. Thumbwheel radio is not working. EXTERIOR: Paint is faded with chips and scratches, passenger side fender is banged, grille and most of the trim is nice, rear finish panel has some dings (those lines you see are reflections from the bumper), front bumper is banged up a bit, rear bumper has one ding but overall pretty good. Straight solid hood, trunklid and roof, straight solid rockers and doglegs, driver's side front fender has a little rust, all 4 doors have some outer skin holes but the bottoms are solid (strange, I know). wheel lips are all solid, lower rear quarters have outer skin rot. I would replace the lower skins to do it right, but they could be filled. Inner quarters and floors have no rust (see pics). Trunk floor is overall very good, does have a few pin holes contained to one small area (look to the right of the spare), and some seem rust in the trunk where the floor meets the pass side wheel well. Glass is all good. We drove this on a 100 mile plus trip to a swapmeet here last week and we got over 25 MPG! So it's a great car to drive while you work on it. Or you could always go the 4 door Road Runner route with a Mopar big block. Either way, it's a very nice car, easy to restore, and deserves some time and money put into it.
