Vehicle Detail

I purchased this Old Hot Rod as a dissembled project from a relative of the original owner/builder about 8 years ago at the Daytona Turkey Swap Meet. From what I was told it was originally built and driven around the Ormand Beach/Daytona Beach Florida area in the 50's. I have completely gone through this car to rebuild/refurbished it. Frame: is an original Model A Ford with a clear Florida Model T Ford title and matching serial number on the frame. It has been boxed and has a X center cross member. Stock front and rear cross member. Body: Original Steel Model T roadster and turtle deck / lid, which was dipped/stripped, metal repairs made then epoxy primed and then urethane primer applied. The doors/body have been streched 3 inches for more room in the cockpit. Note from the pictures that the rear spring is installed in front of the axle by installing the axle housings in reverse, this was a common practice back in the day ( Isky did same to his 23 T ) as this lengthens the wheelbase about 9 inches allowing for the longer body and allows placing of the radiator lower and to the rear of the front crossmember. I added an aluminum louvered hood. Nose was custom made from a 30's something car. King Bee Headlights Hollywood Licence Plate Light etc. as obtained from original build. I added the new Windshield/frame and shocks. Front Supendsion: 50's, chromed dropped axle and spindles from Original build, as they were, I did not rechrome anything on this rebuild. Real 1932 Ford split wishbones. Rebuilt 1946 Ford brakes all around. Steering: 1956 Ford F 100 Engine: Originally built with a stock 21 stud flathead. I drove the car about 3000 miles with it to sort out completed car,and then sold the engine to a restorer. I now has a desirable 1953 Ford "8RT" engine which was rebuilt. I put about 3500 miles on this engine in 1934 roadster before installing it in this car. Equipped with a Windfield grind cam, adjustible lifters and Vintage pre1960 center outlet Edlebrock heads (7.5 CR) and intake . Original Ford type 97 carbs, only running center carb. Dist. coverted to Chrysler electronic. 12 Volt system. It has a 100% Full Flow Oil Filter System, Does not over heat or leak any fluids. Transmission: Very desirable, Hard to Find Ford Open Drive with "78" case and double detent "39" Top Shifter. Nice set of passenger car gears installed and gone through. Rear End: 1946 Ford Original Open Drive Center section, not converted/adapted With desirable Hi Speed 3:78 gears, as most were 4:11. Outer axles and housings are 1940 Ford, (reversed for front mounted spring as above) 1940 and earlier axles and housings are shorter which makes rear narrower by about 3 inches. All new seals and shims installed. New brakes. Wheels are 1935 Ford that are some of the nicest you will ever find, no rust and straight. Interior: I installed a seat from a mini van which could use re-covering or dying but is usable as is. Door panels are aluminum with louvers that I installed. Has new "Bear Claw" door latches for safety and seat belts. All gauges work, even fuel, Hi/Lo beams, dash lights, horn, Emergency Brake works as it should, vented gas tank, manual choke, electric Pusher fan hidden in grille. What we have here is an original Hot Rod, not a new re-creation, it was not done to perfection. Back in the Day most, probably even this one were painted with a vacuum cleaner attachment if painted at all. A spray gun was used this time. I would call it Driver Quality Hot Rod. It is one of the nicest starting, running, stopping, shifting, steering cars I have ever owned. Body is sound, frame was mig welded, paint, chrome not perfect etc. You will need to grease the front end periodically same for clutch and brake pedals and perform other maintenance as with any old Hot Rod. ****This car is well known here in Florida, I can provide references, members of the HAMB and people in the industry that can attest to the cars dependablity and driveability. I encourage you to call me with any questions before Bidding, Honest answers given. You are buying "As Is" with no warranties expressed or implied. Reason for Selling. To many Hot Rods ( I know, no such thing) but I have other projects that I want to finish/devote my time to. My health is excellent, I have plenty of storage space and selling it is not going to change my life style so I will not entertain any low ball offers. As a friend described it, "This is a honest Hot Rod" Good Luck Bidding! The Artists Print of this car is included. Realistic Reserve. Mike 772 240-4896
