This is a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 2dr Hardtop now with a 340 High Performance Stroker Motor and OEM 6-Pack set up from a AAR 70 Cuda. It is a 4-speed manual with 391 rear end gears, non posi as it is for a daily driver not a quarter miler! Needless to say, this is NOT an original OEM configuration for this particular vehicle and definitely NOT a factory unit although most would not know it as it has most all of the factory items plus a lot more. This is a Custom High Performance Hot Rod for a responsible adult and not for one of your 16 year old kids. This Swinger is sold AS IS because of that very reason as it has a lot of horsepower but still can be used as a daily driver, however was not built to race and more for looks although it is a High Performance Vehicle!!! We built it to our preferences as a daily sunny day driver and have personally put all the breakin miles on it ourselves and did not build it for someone else's taste necessarily. If you are going to race it at the track you will have to add and/or change some parts on your own to make it race ready with whatever safety items that would be required by any certain track. There is Only about 3950 miles on this car since it's restoration and total rebuild of most of the components including the complete New rebuild/build up of a 70 340 motor including hot tanking, line bored, cylinders bored and honed to fit each individual piston, squared the deck, bronze bushed lifter bores, High output oil pump, brass soft plugs, Clevite Bearings---Fully oil grooved on the Mains. We then added the Mopar Performance Stroker kit which makes it just under a 400 cubic inch motor and that whole assembly including flywheel and pressure plate was balanced to within less than a gram. The hydraulic Cam was a special grind we use for some mild rumbling sound through the exhaust but not annoying. The heads were hot tanked also, milled just enough to clean them up and had New hardened seats put in to run this country's unleaded fuel these days and all New stainless 202/160 valves, New valve springs with New hardened keepers and included adjustable hydraulic rockers for a added future convenience. We added Quality Hooker Headers, Power Steering, 8 3/4 rear end with Power 10" Brakes and Factory Rally Wheels and 71 Centers. We also changed it over to electronic ignition from the old points type of the 70 cars. The 4-speed linkage was one we had stuck away out of a 69-70 A-body and the 8 3/4 rear end 3:91 ratio is also standard small bolt pattern as are the front drums which are correct for the year. The car has excellent stopping power and is stable with a front sway bar and 340 torsion bar's. Compression ratio comes out to about 9.5 to run 89 octane unleaded fuel or more depending on your preference. This vehicle has been restored to driver condition and not to trailer around the country side. It is for actual enjoyment of driving a High Performance Custom Hot Rod although it drives like a regular standard Dart Swinger on Steroids and has a lot of torque. The added Plus is it runs off the two barrel (center carb) most all the time until you really press it (for the outboards) so the fuel economy is reasonable and not an issue for a high performance vehicle. The interior has been gone over and has had the seats recovered and new carpet as has the window rubbers/seals front and rear have been replaced with NEW also from Steel Rubber products. The front end has been gone through including Lower Control Arms along with the rear end 340 Leaf Springs from Benz Spring out of Oregon. All engine, transmission and rear spring mounts have been replaced with New rubber as you normally would. The complete exhaust system has been renewed with 2 1/2" tubing and original type exhaust tips. I am sure we are forgetting about lots of new/rebuilt parts we have put on to get it where it was this dependable but it is! We ONLY do Quality work and USE Quality Parts on our restorations as I'm sure you can see if you look close, just one good example is the rear factory replacement spoiler with the under brackets. That was $600 by itself and the rest is just as sincere!! This Dart is just as you see it as far as the paint and body are rust free, yes as in solid ALL the way through, must have been a Cali car or at least dry country somewhere and since we have had it been inside also under cover. Paint is presentable as a driver and has a few bumps and bruises here and there but all in all good for being still original for all those years, 42 years to be exact. If you want a factory numbers original, this ain't it! If you want new paint and down to every nut and bolt restored, buy something else or have it painted and do a frame off restoration yourself. If you want numbers matching this isn't for you! If you want something to put in or on a trailer for your show queen this isn't for you. HOWEVER if you want something that has the capability to go fast at the track or off and you don't have to sell or hock your first born and is comfortable and enough Horsepower with a manual, 8 3/4 rear end and a 340 6-Pack stroker, this may be the driver you have been looking for at a reasonable price for a Swinger that will be a Nice Daily Driver. Try and put something like this together for this price, you can't unless you already had most all the parts on the shelf already as we did for years past! We can hold on to the vehicle as we sometimes do most all our vehicles that get shipped if that is what you need to do to set up a shipper as we have parking for a transport to get the Dart loaded up.
