As far as I know, my father was the second owner of the vehicle - buying it around 1970 as a second car. The vehicle was sold new and used by Helm's Brothers Mercedes Benz in New York City. The car has not been registered since the early 1980s yet it was originally garaged until 1999. I inherited the car in 2008. It has not been driven since and has suffered from weather exposure as seen in the photographs. The keys were lost for a quite a while and were found approximately one year ago. I had hoped to restore it as a personal and sentimental project but never got around to it until starting a little over a year ago after finding the keys. Refer to the picture to see some attempts at body work. The gas tank needs to be dropped and the fuel line needs to be blown out. The engine turns over and runs when supplied with a separate fuel supply. Some mechanical work has been done. Regrettably, I must sell the car because the money is needed to pay for Hurricane Sandy repairs on our summer home. (The location of the car was NOT flooded or damaged during the storm.) This is a perfect restoration project.
