Up for auction is a '61 Cadillac Sedan DeVille 4 Window model. This car is equipped with its original engine and transmission that has never been out of the car. This car starts, drives,shifts, and runs well. The odometer reads 49,000 and is very believable. This car is running, driving, and registered, and in a heated storage facility. The car has it's original paint, and interior. The present owner has started to keep up the preservation of this car and started in on its restoration. It has had 4 owners. The first owner had the car until roughly the 1980's and lived on a large estate in Valley Stream, LI, NY. After that,the car was sold to a man who purchased it with intentions of fixing it up for his wife, who always wanted a Cadillac.... That was short lived.. He then parked it in a car port for several years, with a tarp over it- which made its original paint a bit thin on top. It then was rescued by a person in Stony Brook, Long Island NY who is involved with using cars in the movies,and used the car in The filming of Men In Black III. Present owner has now rescued it from outside,and brought it to Rhode Island to have the body work done.- and then this past spring, drove it 100 miles to his new home in Connecticut. Living in a condo is forcing this selling of this very straight, and almost complete project. This car has power windows,working am radio, working power antenna, and 6 way power seat: All in working condition. The drivers and passengers side front window tracks need some attention. They work, but will need to some help from your hands to make it up fully. It has a recent new exhaust, that rattles a bit, but is in good shape. recently, the mile counter stopped working. This car does not come with skirts. Other mechanical items replaced this past year are: a new radiator, belts/hoses/Thermostat. A new generator, new battery, and cables. New rear axle Bearings, and 4 new white wall tires, new inside rear view mirror, and rear package tray. A complete carburator rebuild also tops the list. With addition to the mechanics, New correct, floor pans (see picture) were welded into the car. New inner and outer Rocker panels and quarter panels on both sides were welded in also. The floor braces, and whole entire underside was sand blasted and painted a semi gloss black. There are some items needed to complete this project: There are some areas on the original paint that are very very thin, as well as some small holes to be addressed in the doors and the fender. There is a small dent in the drivers fender, but the grill, and bumpers (front and back) are very very straight and solid. The seats and door panels are intact, but front seat would need to be redone. They are the original blue leather and fabric. There is no carpet, but the dash chrome, steering wheel, visors, ashtray, inside stainless steel is in flawless condition. When the welding facility was fixing the rockers, they cut the bottom of the fenders to repair the rocker panel on both sides. (see pictures) This car has much time and money invested in it at present state. Over $8,000.00 invested in this car.
