Vehicle Detail

I am pleased once again to present my 11,000 mile, documented by Arizona DMV registration and inspections yearly, ARIZONA owned and driven1975 Cadillac Eldorado w 8-Track Player and Parade Boot. The other options it came with as listed on the original order sheet are listed below and included in the sale along with the dealer invoice, the owners manual and other dealer provided documents. Believe it or not the dealer actually sold the new car buyer an undercoating job at the time of purchase that is still in good condition! I would represent the car as restored but the fact is this car is original and has been polished with new paint only! I wanted to point this out as I feel original is maybe more valuable than a pieced together car that looks like new again. I still have a few little things to do as you can see from my pictures and I will have these done in 3-4 days, while still taking my time as always. There are some options for they buyer to consider if buying as a cruise in car or driver vs making it a 100% car in all original condition as I feel should be done. Consider this car as all original in this auction with some nice deals on the finish work to make it a cruise in show car with enough importance to keep in NICE, for a museum quality original parts restoration. I saved room for more pictures in a better back drop maybe. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO RUST ANYWHERE... EMAIL ME AND ASK FOR YOUR FAVORITE SHOT OF THE METAL for poof of no rust. I took over 100 pictures in the paint process. Car runs, real nice, has good gas in it, has all fluids changed. The transmission shifts smooth and strong and the car delivers a KING OF THE ROAD driving experience like no other! Unfutunately I will not allow the car to be driven on the salted roads as long as it remains mine. It has never seen salt and I won't be responsible for being the first to salt the car! I do however guarantee that the car will make any trip you plan and I would even drive it to you on salted roads if you paid for it in advance and for my time! Asstance with shipping of course is preferred vs driving it on salt! :) When I first got in this Cadillac I was inpressed with the tight steering and the overall feel of the car when I drove it back to my shop after a tune up and oil change... I had not listened too much to the 2nd owner's story but my wife did! I just thought "Hey, I can make this a nice weekend Cruise-In car! Well, after the drive I thought to myself this thing sure feels nicer than the Cadillacs I remember riding in, back in the 1970's with 80K or whatever on them then! With that I began to look more closely... and when we actually got around to doing the car my wife located all the paper work and called me over to look at the car's real recorded history! What I see is just as amazing as the prestine body, nice dash and nearly all original everything! The original ordersheet states the following accessories were added, Seat-Dual Comfort (p-w), Seat Adjuster (y-v), Radio 1, Door Edge guards, T&T steering wheel, Trunk Lock, Floor Mats, Trunk Mat, Twilight Sentinel, Cruise Control, Headlamp Control, Mirror Rt side, Mirror-Illuminated Vanity, Controlled Wiper System, Illuminated Entry System, License Frames, Heavy Duty cooling, Convertible Hard Boot, and Blue Coral & Underseal for a total of $741 for the Accessories. There is also a dealer installed tow hitch but it does not appear to have been used and is not on invoice either… Keys have a jet ski emplem from days gone by so I think it may have been installed with the intent to tow a jet-ski to a lake on holidays or something. Hitch is still nice a shiny! Below are the details of my offer and the story and history we can present as facts with documentation!1st Option Custom Made Interior installed and complete including carpet and padding, Seats and door panels in colors chosen from original samples. No matter how well these are done they are not original. They look great and are new but in not being original will detract from the extreme potential value of all original. The seat pedestals are included with full power options and work! There will be no door panels or seats delivered in an auction bid. We will include the interior and install it for $900 over the auction win price! BUY IT NOW IS NO CHARGE! 2nd Option NEW SHOCKS. The original shocks are bad but the springs are still painted blue from the factory and have factory tags intact. We have new shocks here to put on it and will include then and install them for $125 BUY IT NOW IS NO CHARGE! 3rd Option Convertible top: We have a correctly made and correct material convertible top for use with the factory glass rear window. This top comes complete with new pads and springs. We will include the top installed and working with the foactory glass for $900 over the auction win. BUY IT NOW IS NO CHARGE! WHY OPTIONS? Some people may value this car in a 100 point museum quality original condition vs restored for cruise-in purposes. For these people the additional items might not be desireable and all they want is the original car as-is! I understand this. This is why I am not keeping this car to make it my driver! It would be nice but I can't drive a real historical car with importance like this one. In addtion I paid more for the interior than I am offering it for and if you don't need it, I want it! It is nice and I paid dearly for it to use in my driver! :) Same with the top and the shocks! We have everthing to finish the car out as a nice cruise-in car as intended. The seats and door panels are all custom made by a friend who does nothing but interiors. The color is really close to correct too! I chose this color with a sample that was taken from unexposed original materials. Same with the carpet! I picked this stuff and did not leave anything to chance! I'm picky too! THE REAL STORY ABOUT THIS CAR! The trade-in car was a 1974 Cadillac Brougham with 9,780 miles on it when traded to the dealer toward the purchase of this car. The price difference was $3700 and $2700 was paid in cash on delivery with $1000 on deposit. We just don't see people paying with cash, for new cars today! The Cadillac Eldorado Convertible in this auction was originally ordered by the Overland Plan Corp.by George M. Jarvie, from Coulter Cadillac, in Phoenix, AZ. In addition to the Order Sheet we have the Original Application for AZ Title and Registration for Overland Plan Corporation in Scottsdale, AZ by George M Jarvie and sequential AZ registrations to be carried in the Vehicle thru May, 1989. Thru all of these records there is never any Odometer reading over 7,000 miles on this car documented on a yearly basis! In 1989 it appears the car begins being owned by George M Jarvie and the Jarvie Family Revocable Trust and the mileage is then recorded as 0107000 in the reassignment of title. This is where we find the obvious odemeter recording error! Although the records are in hand indicating the car never had more than 7,000 miles through 1989 it jumps to 107000 miles at title change from the business name to the name of the business person's trust. Still the same original person who ordered the car! Still a one owner at this time!!! Then in 1992 mileage is recorded at 0107001, and continues being recorded in error from the first reassignment of title to the orignal owner. The ducuments indicate to me the car was parked for 3 years and maybe moved a time or two. Mileage stands corrected at just over 11,000 miles w documented error in title reassignment… All other recordings of mileage indicate it was only driven a few miles between documentation and at no point did the car ever brake 11K. We feel with the accompanying documents the car was rarely driven for business and got tied up in a trust where it may have ben moved or driven on special occasions trhough 2001! In 2001 the car is sold by the Jarvie Family Revocable Trust to the second actual owner who has a printing business here in OH. We told the story of how this man wanted to restore it to new with only 11K miles where all it really needed was a new convertible top installed. The mileage was only presented to us as 11K by the having the Original Factory Stickers still in place all over the engine and AC, inside door and glove box and trunk too. The Belts Appear to be either original or an early dealer replacement and remain in good condition, as is the Washer bottle, the Overflow Bottle. Even the hoses appear as original or dealer replacements and remain nice! Everything about this car indicates it is a very low mileage car that was rarely used! There is no rust in the car and we have done our best to take the desert out of the car too! The convertible top appeared as original when replaced although if needed to be replaced badly and allowed interior fading which is now corrected. We’d also like to state that in our documentation, from 2000 until today there have only been just over 200 miles put on the car and we put nearly all of them on it, after an oil change, battery and tune-up, in driving the Caddy to our shop for the restoration! That is when we found the DMV records proving the story of 11K to be true. The documents were all there from new! :) It appears that after 25 years of keeping this Cadillac like it was in a desert time capsule the car was sold by the Jarvie Family Revocable Trust of Arizona, to the Second Owner in here in Ohio in 2001… The 2nd owner must have felt running on the original tires from 1975 was unsafe as he purchased new tires identified by the date cade of 2001 on the tires. These tires appear to have less than 500 miles on them! More proof of low mileage and no driving. Shortly after the 2nd owner purchased the car something tragic happened! We were told the car was parked near an aviation painting facility and the paint chemicals got on the paint. By this time the original convertible top was ripped and needed replaced and the second owner disgusted with the paint issue decided to give the Caddy to his son who wanted to make it custom. Luckily he lost interest after removing the seats and starting paint prep. With that said this is where we come in... When we got the car the original carpet was missing and the 8 track radio and ashtray were hanging as if someone lost interest in installing a stereo. Good thing the dash was not hacked at this time! We were told the story of the second owners paint demise and believe this story to be true especially with the DMV records. There was never any other paint work done to the car except amature primer -removed, nor are there and rusted out or badly damaged parts. Everything polishes up nice! All parts are original to car including the body fillers which is rare coming from AZ! More proof of low mileage and indoor storage over the years! We nearly had to take it down to bare metal due to the chemical issues with the original paint to get a quality paint job but that is done now too in white diamond pearl to complement the blue interior and retail near factory appearance. In additional to new paint, we re-upholstered the seats, installed new carpet, installed a new convertible top, changed the fluids and tuned up the car. All doors are hanging correctly from the factory with original hinge pins and grommits in good condition. Not even a rust bubble under the edge of the doors! Hood and trunk all still factory aligned without a single rust bubble. The car was kept as close as possibleto as delivered to the 1st owner by the Dealer in Pheonix, AZ. All that this car really needed to make it nice again has been done and this is why the car is still nearly all original and highly collectible. There are a few minor issues that may need attention but there are different approaches to this and should be thought out by the new owner vs us just doing a repair. The car retains all original AC components and the AC compressor is free and spinning but it is not currently operating. We think this system should be restored as original vs repaired with new parts and would work with the new owner to do the work as seen fit at the costs incurred to restore or repair. Seem worth it to send out the original parts… We do not have R12 in our shop and that stuff is not cheap today. That said and it's a convertible I may elect to not repair or service the AC but keep it sealed and all original until such time someone wanted to pay TOP DOLLAR for the car... More than any ebay offered prices I see!Due to the age of this vehicle and the fact that it appears to be all original we discourage using it as a daily driver but rather maintaining it as a collectible in its current drivable state where our trip in the car was smooth and luxurious reminding us of days of yesterday… Surprisingly after 37 year there are no leaks and everything looks nice and from 1975! We welcome your inspection and test drive prior to payment.Paint work included taping off of factory stickers and engine bay. All jams, inside fenders, interior, hinges and so forth were also painted. No since taking this car down and painting it half-way! This paint job consists of, 2 heavy wet coats clear, over a hint of clear blue pearl, over white ice metallic, over pure white, over a properly prepaired factory substrate. After the car was painted it was wet sanded in three stages 1K, 1.5K and 2K, then turbo cut/buffed, final cut/buffed, and shine master/polished to a white diamond blue pearl. In short, many, many hours went into the disassembly, paint prep, paint work and reassemby and polishing processes and it looks very nice with the factory color scheme of white with white top and blue interior. Original color accented chrome trim compliments the paint… This is orignial chrome not reproduction! All of the chrome is original and polished with minimal defects (wheel opening and door edge guards have minor dings but presnet a general overall factory like new finish! Listen to this!!!! Even the plastic body fillers are the originals... We would also like to state that the weather stripping was intact and was in amazingly good condition prior to removal for paint work. He have placed this on auction still needing new hood pad and weather stripping installed. For 100% there are maybe a dozen minor issues and flaws that could be made better with reproduction items. Good luck finding orignals in better condition. Don't think you likely will! We will gladly install new hood pad and weather stripping if purchased by buyer. Kits available on ebay are reasonable… If you are in the market for a 1975 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible in LOW MILEAGE original condition with fresh interior, paint and top, well worth being preserved, then this is the car for you. Comes with original factory parade boot painted to match, original 8 track radio… Radio has not been tested due to the speakes not holding up to time... Factory plug is there and I am pretty sure it was coming on before we disassembled. We'll see about getting the original 8 Track fired up when we deail the interior in reassembly. What I like most is how the Urethane just puts the factory paint luster to shame! They never made them look this nice and this is before final detail as seen in pics... More pics to come... Don't worry, we'll relist this one if pics don't make it up before auction end causing a NO SALE. The fact is I bought this car for minor restoration to add to my driver collection. It's too important to drive and belongs in a historical collection! I can find other driver cars! I only drive classics! Looks like I'm still in a muscle car or truck for now... I think I have like 10 other cars to drive until I can locate a driver car to make my own! :)On Jan-01-13 at 19:31:32 PST, seller added the following information: Some people are having difficulty forming a picture of this car as a finished Cruise-in quality driver below is a link to a car like mine with more miles that had to be restored to bring it up to par for what I like to call cruise-in quality! My car is not a restored car. It is all original with the exception of the new tri-coat white diamond pearl paint, alternator and battery. The Hand Made Custom Interior and the new convertible top "advertised to the public as correct" are optional as well as new shocks. Total to be added for all options is $1975.00. That delivers the car in nice original condition with a cruise in quality interior and top and new shocks. A few notes I can add... I am missing 2 small pieces of chrome below fillers in the front. I have one of each from either side and I do often fabricate sheetmetal for cars. I have not found these missing frome the time I bought the car. I could make this trim from raw materials with mirror examples of each on hand as original parts from the car. I also lubed up the tracks for the windows and now can state the windows are working nice. They needed lubed and that is done. The wipers are in an odd position and did not repond to the switch. I can also correct any issue here for you. All Lights work and the radio did power up. Speakers are toast... I can replace these with correct 10Ohm speakers or help with the install of an aftermarket factory fit stereo. Those are pretty cheap and are a major improvement over stock. However you want the radio done, well let's just say I have won more than one award for custom Car Audio installations and leave it at that! In addition I want to add the electrical plugs on every 1970s Cadillac I have worked on in the last 10 years were brittle and brake easily. This car's electrical plugs are still pliable and there is no corrosion in the electrical system at all. TRADES? Yes, maybe... Here is the deal. I could use a duramax dually now for a 1962 Wrapped glass Small Window Chevy C20 Stepside suicide Cat/Dog Crew Cap LowRyder project. I can also use another 1971-76 beater Eldo... Doesn't need to run Must have free turning 500CID and TH425 intact... TOP INTERIOR AND ALL THAT JAZZ NOT NEEDED... Chance to trade up big time here with cash... Also I do all types of early trucks and prefer rusted junk over nice for custom builds... I like rusted old want to be muscle cars for modifications and customs builds. As for restoration cars I only want HIGH END Basket cases that I can do from the ground up... Gorgie Porgie's restoration shop offers nothing I can't do as good or better... Because I am in Dayton I went to the TA Nationals this year. Even the top cars were half-arse in my opinion. Originals I like... Restored for profit forget about it, not interested unless like me you also consider it as in need of restoration... Gorgie Porgie needs to stop taking my basket case custom car projects and trying to pass them off as restorations and ruining the collectible market... Want a real custom Eldorado... Well have your wallet ready and I can make my 11K car your dream custom... Here is a link so you know what to expect from my driver quality 11K original... I highly suggest that you allow me to offer you a refubishment of the original rubber and plastics and to lube the care end to end if you plan to drive it. I did change all the fluids but any original needs this additional attention before it is driven if it is really a low mile original. I would normally replace all load bearing rubber but this car was not driven and was purchased by someone who understands you don't drive originals except to evalute what you have. 200 Mile drives tell you a lot about a car but you better bring a tool box and be ready to work if you buy a car and plan to drive it away like I do. You gotta pull the plugs, lube the rings, check or empty all the fuel, evaluate all fluid conditions and deal with what you find and be prepaired to stop and call for a tow. Change oil and filter... All that stuff or you will ruin that old original every time! 25 years teaches you a lot about restorations and old cars. I still learn something new everyday! BUY IT NOW WAS $19,950... Sorry that option went away! That price delivers a nice cruise in car ready for the road with all systems go less the AC which is going to be a special restoration with lots of options... Bidding welcome for the buyer who prefers auctions but the first person to offer the BUY IT NOW price will get a real nice original car very much like the link below! Good Luck and happy bidding you may save a buck in the auction format over the 30% savings offered in BUY IT NOW! http://dublin-california.olx.com/1975-cadillac-el-dorado-iid-426358687
