Rare 2003 Explorer with third row seats, V8 and all-wheel-drive. Vehicle is in good condition. I am the third owner of this vehicle. It has received all regular scheduled service during my ownership. I purchased the vehicle at 106k miles with an extended service plan from Ford Motor Company. The car has had regular scheduled maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, brake service, tune up, etc). During my ownership I've had the following major repairs under the Ford service plan by a certified Ford dealership:106656 miles - replaced both rear wheel bearings113676 miles - complete transmission rebuild117337 miles - new radiator. front differential rebuilt129805 miles - replaced power steering pump assembly. Rebuilt rear differentialAdditional repairs under my ownership include: new O2 sensor, new front wheel hub bearings, new fuel injector, new ignition coil. Please note that this is a true all-wheel drive vehicle, not 4X4. The good:The vehicle is overall in very good shape. No structural damage and no accidents during my ownership and none that I'm aware of.All major repair was done under extended service plan at a certified Ford dealership.The engine is rock solid. Never had any engine problems.Leather seats with third row.All wheel drive transmission rebuilt by Ford. No slippage or shifting problems since the rebuild.Class III tow hitch.Heat and AC are fully functional.Radio, CD Player and Cassette player fully functional.Fog lights.second and third row climate control ventsNo oil leaks.Roof RackFord tough V8 engineAnti-theft alarmSide mirror courtesy lightsLift-hatch and lift-gate access.AWD transmissionOwned by a non-smokerRemote door locksKey-code door entryAuto dimming rear-view mirror with homelink The bad At the last oil change, the dealer noted that the catalytic converter is operating below threshold.Tires and brakes are at about 20%Has a small coolant leak (might be from the engine manifold). Under normal driving conditions, the coolant reservoir needs to be refilled about every two weeks.The driver side fog lamp lens is cracked. The bulb is okay and the light still works.The second row seat behind the driver will fold down, but it will not lift up for third row access. Last time I had this fixed there was some debris lodged in the seat hinge. Might be the same problem again.Minor cosmetic blemishes (internal and external) typical of a 9 year old car with over 160k miles on it.No floor matsPassenger side side door mirror doesn't workThere is a some occasional rough idling - needs new spark plugs, and fuel filter.Last multi-point inspection was at 162,711 miles. This included: oil change, tire rotation and pressure check, brake inspection, fluid top-off, battery test, filter check and belts and hoses check. Buy it now price is $4900 (the current KBB value is $5464) There aren't that many 3rd generation explorers with V8 and AWD so this is pretty rare. Considering the number of owners and mileage, this vehicle is in really good shape. ***This SUV is being sold As-Is. It has passed California DMV smog test for 2013.
