1985 Toyota Supra P-Type Ok, I selling my '85 Supra that is still a project, but could be driven everyday just as I did up until the snow started to fly this year. Its an '85 P-Type Supra, with an transplated Indestructible 2.8 5MGE Inline Six with 125K miles, linked to a 5 speed manual going to a limited slip rear diff with 4:11 gears. Sure, it had 152k on when I got it now is has close to 175k miles on the body but the replacement engine pulls like a train and runs like a top. We swapped the gauge cluster from another car because the speedometer quit working. It read 199076 miles but the car really has 175K on it. It has new NGK plugs and wires, new cam cover gaskets. Fresh MaxLift oil change 500 miles ago. Mechanically wise there are also are many new parts, new front struts shocks, front and rear rotors with and pads installed along with a freshened up e-brake assembly installed 3 years ago. The driveshaft has all new u joints and the exhaust is in good shape. Interior wise, not bad, front and rear seat are in good shape. The dashboard still shines but has a small cracked and there are some squeaks and rattles. I have some different interior panel I will sell with the car as I was going with a black and burgundy interior scheme. It does have a new head unit with aux. port and USB charging port, along with an aftermarket antenna and rear speakers. Also installed a Key Remote lock system, nice! The car is from Wisconsin and the underside is in decent shape.. All the lines are great shape and all I had to patch was a little rust spot on the R/R driver rear rocker. I fixed the passenger side R/R rear rocker already. I bought the car with a blown engine and put a used Supra engine with 118K. Car now has a Clean and Clear title in my name at hand ready to go. Hate to sell it want to focus on a car for college next year. What been done: Engine: Installed a used 5MGE engine with 118K on it 3 years ago on 152K body. - Replaced Valve Cover gaskets - New NKG spark plug and wires - Replaced front cam seals - New timing belt with idler pulley - New starter - New belts - Rebuilt altenator - Radiator flushed and new coolant this fall Body: - New front struts - New rotors, pads, and rebuilt caliper - New parking brake pads - Replaced U-joint in drive shaft - Replaced remote mirrors and they both work - Includes 5 original aluminum wheels with one on a full spare in the back. - Air Conditioner needs a charge The Bad: Body has some rot in lower 1/4s and rocker panels. There is a dent in the front passenger's side fender and small dent in the hood. It is has all the molding trim and is in good to ok shape for it age. I replace the driver door and repainted it which is a pretty good match. It does not leaks or burn oil. Tires are not matching but still have some miles left on them. Includes a spare tire as too. There is No Sunroof Rear wiper works There are some clunks and rattles in the front suspension but put new struts in the front last year. Headlights pop up and work correctly. The markers all turn on the driver side is broken front blinker is broken but still works. It at the point a little body work and you will have a mechanically great car that will clean up very well. I am being as Honest as possible. It is still a project but like I said its bulletproof reliable. Use it as a DD or fun project and fun to drive.
