Vehicle Detail
1965 Chevy C-10 I bought this truck about 3.5 years ago. The guy who owned it recently moved from Texas. The truck originally was sold in Texas, as the photo of the bumper shows. The transmission mounts were failing, and then the project started. The 2 pictures of the truck in one piece, were from when I purchased it. When I purchased it, the gentleman had recently purchased a bunch of new parts, and installed them. Hence why the truck was primer color when I purchased it. I will list those newer parts, then list the parts I have purchased since, that are new. The truck has not been together or on the road since I tore it down. It has been in a garage the entire time, as well. The frame and chassis parts were powdercoated by a local company, I spent $1000 in powdercoating. So, this has been a complete frame-off restoration. Here are the parts that were installed by him, and approximately 4 years old, and have about 2000 miles: Windshield Gas Tank Radiator Front Chrome Bumper Front left and right Fenders Back Cab Glass Chevy Fender Emblems Tailgate Wheels/ Tires (American Racing Wheels) Chrome Grill Misc. The VIN shows it came from a 1975 Pickup, so not a #'s match. I took to National Cylinder Head in Orlando, and they rebuilt. It had NEVER been rebuilt. It was set up to push 475 HP, the block was align honed as well. It is setup to run a single carb, on pump gas. It was bored out .40 over, and the crank 010/010. A high lift Melling cam was used, as well as Fel Pro gaskets. 4 bolt mains, and code shows high power of stock motor at 370 hp. The invoice from them was $1625, obviously I provided the parts listed above. So, I have over $4000 in or on the motor. Here are the specifics on the Trans: The trans is a 4 speed manual with the granny low gear. The code shows it was an aftermarket trans from the early 70's, so NOT a #'s match. I took to a local trans place, and had it rebuilt. The invoice was $500. Here are the specifics on the Cab: The cab was taken to a local body shop, to have the rockers, corners, and partial floors replaced. He also undercoated the bottom side of the cab, and put on a topcoat for protection while the restoration was completed. The cab was in great condition, but those parts had pin-hole rust. Invoice was $1500.The rear end was just sand blasted and painted, no high performance parts put in, but is a 12 bolt GM rear end. The aluminum radiator was newer, and a 4 core, in great condition. Here are the parts NOT included:Complete Doors, there were no usable parts including glass, or interior door parts Inner front Fenders Radiator/Grill Support Wood in bed gone Obviously some small parts for interior I do NOT have ignition, carb, exhaust headers or exhaustI do have all the small parts for interior, like gauge cluster, wire harness, seat belts, heater system, etc. The box is in really good condition, the only issues I see, is the rear of the fenders, towards the bottom, I see some bondo, and pin-hole rust, so at least some bondo work or lower fenders. At this point in the project, the truck is ready to have the final steps for paint, purchase doors, inner fenders, etc. for final fitment and paint prep. The motor is ready to be bolted to the trans, and fitment checked. I am getting a divorce, and can't afford the money to go to the next step. I purchased the truck for $7500, and with parts, bodywork, trans and engine work, I have another $9,000 in the truck, not counting all my labor. Obviously I don't expect to get my money back, but I am trying to get as much as possible for the divorce. Feel free to make offers. The truck can be shipped, I would assist as much as possible with that. I do not have an engine hoist. Let me know if you have any questions. The truck as a free and clear title. I only accept a cashiers check/money order. No cash, personal check, etc. I have the truck listed in a couple spots, so I reserve the right to sell locally. Only series inquiries considered. Desposit due within 24 hours, $500. I may consider trades, just shoot me an email. I may separate the motor and trans from the sale, depends on how much the offer is. Phone number is 386-314-3558. I noticed I don't have pics of the gas tank, grill, or front bumper, I will try to get those on here.
