Vehicle Detail

Last known Baja Bronco This is the 25th Stroppe Bronco sold by Ford in 1975. The relationship between Ford and Stroppe reportedly ended poorly in 1974, the remaining agreed upon limited edition Bajas were produced. According to what I have heard the Broncos were held almost a year by Ford and many of the 75's were sold in conjunction with Luben Industries who was another aftermarket manufacturer. The bronco has a number of options - air conditioning- missing some parts, sliding rear windows, auto, disc brakes, roll bar (last Bajas used the standard, not the early Stroppe style). I have a complete Marti Report which supports the Baja option as well as discussion with the BajaRegistry. The Bronco comes with the old small card California title. This bronco's second owner had the Bronco as a work vehicle since the 1980's until it was put up for sale less than a year ago, he purchased it from the original owner. He had started plans for restoring it and had the motor professionally rebuilt. After problems with the shop it set for a number of years. The motor starts right up and idles nicely. It does want to die as soon as put in gear - so not driveable. I am not sure if this is vacuum/timing or transmission issues. Since the pictures I have connected up the motor and installed a professionally rebuilt carb and new 3 core aluminum radiator w/ trans cooler I removed the old nasty carpet and rough back floor (so none of the issues are covered, unlike some I have seen for sale). The body is much more solid than anything would be if from the east coast. I have most of the sheet metal including the front floors and inner fender panels. The doors look very good and the tailgate. The rear quarter seams issues are mainly surface stuff - see inside pictures which do not appear to have rust through. The hood is creased and will need replaced. The bronco comes with a number of additional brackets, rear seat not installed, old radiator, and misc items. Again, I installed a new 3 core alumimum radiator and hoses, rebuilt carb, new sparkplugs, rubber fuel lines and "77" poly rear tank (no rust or old tank junk to worry about). This bronco will need a restoration. The level of your efforts will determine if this will be a nice driver or a high dollar rare bronco. Nice restored Stroppe Baja's can bring 30-50K. For some the fact that is the last known (and likely the last Baja made) will add value in the minds of some. If I keep, it will be undergoing a full frame off restoration. More Pictures
