Vehicle Detail
This Buick Skylark was the second of 3 cars recovered from a remote farm in the dry central valley of California. The Skylark sat safely in a large overhang waiting for us 24 years. It was completely reconditioned and then mysteriously parked for 2 1/2 decades. The engine was rebuilt by owner's brother who was a renowned race motor specialist. Indeed his craftsmanship stood the test of time because after a long slumber the Buick easily fired right up. The car was coated in a thick layer of farm dust. We have knocked off quite a bit, but there is more cleaning to do. The Buick had a solid paint job and it's bewildering that it was never shown off. Well now it's your chance to get after this project and do a bit of showing off of your own. When we removed the air cleaner, the carburetor appeared brand new. When I removed the distributor cap, the points and internals appeared brand new. When I pulled the dip stick to check the oil, the oil was golden and clear and perfectly at the fill line. The Buick has disc brakes and air conditioning that were added by the previous owner. There is a dozen trim pieces that are included in the deal. I will update the ad with more specifics as the week continues. This is a rock solid drop top that we all love here in California. It's got a little kitty cat smell to it and that means no mice in the wires. This is a great car for your winter time project so you can look good on the first sunny spring day. Take care car guys. Happy Holidays and welcome to our last auction of the year.
