I bought this car 3 years ago for my son and fixed it all up for him. In the past 2000 miles I did all of the following: 4 new tires, complete tuneup including cap rotor wires and valve cover gasket. Timing belt and tensioner. 4 new KYB shocks and struts. Oxygen sensor and complete front to rear exhaust including catalytic converter. The body is pretty good. There is a dent on the trunk. There was some rot on the door sills which I filled in and painted over. The key Geo Metro vulnerable points are good: the frame where the control arms attaches is solid and the crossmember below the radiator is good. The engine makes a little noise that sounds like it might be piston slap. I guess it will eventually need rod bearings. It starts easy and runs strong. It needs a new roof. (about $200 on line)
