Vehicle Detail
1990 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA GL *RARE* Two-Door Wolfsburg Edition There are not very many of these on the road anymore. It's a shame because they are such great, long lasting vehicles with classic styling. A lot of Jetta GL's on the road are not Wolfsburg Edition (check out the emblem!) nor are they two-door. Most are four-door. This model had the sweet skyroof that opens and closes by rotating a lever in front of the rear-view mirror. This car is great, and I'm sad to see it go. We just can't afford to garage it or keep it insured to be on the road. Condition: This car was running great until it started making lawnmower sounds, but we've taken it to a garage who has fixed it since. The garage had to replace one fuel injector. The transmission is 5-speed manual. I used to drive this thing a lot, but the garage changed something about the way the stick works. It's like it wants to go reverse when you want to shift it to first gear instead of locking you out of reverse. It's kind of annoying to see that happen, personally. The transmission works though. Dents: hardly any, actually. There's a small noticeable dent on the passenger side door (see photos). Accidents: Someone hit my back fender and created a dent, but that has since been fixed by an auto body shop. They did a really nice job and even replaced the entire lower back kit. This was back in 2007. Other than that, the exterior of this vehicle is quite nice considering the age. Volkswagen used a really high-quality paint for use on this car's surface. It has hardly chipped, rusted, or flaked off. Maintenance: Mostly just oil-changes on our part. If we were better, we would have done regular radiator flushes or what not, but who ever has the time to do that? Plus I heard this car was a real enthusiast's car, which is to say that you really had to disassemble everything every time you wanted to maintain something. History: We are not the original owners. I think we are the second owners. Check out the mileage (220k miles). This car has the heart of a champion! Shipping and payment: This auction is for pick-up only, unless the buyer wants to arrange and pay for shipping the automobile. Reserve: We've already received offers of $700, so that will be the Reserve price. Thank you for looking!
