Vehicle Detail
1990 Suzuki Samurai 1.3 Liter Electronic Fuel Injected. Low miles. I recently found this Samurai sitting in a garage since 2000. This Sammy is in good condition after having always been garaged and stored in the winters. The body is in nice condition with very little rust, (see pics). Before starting the vehicle after a twelve year slumber, I removed the gas tank and drained it. I had the gas tank professionally cleaned. I then replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter and the car fired right up,(after I installed a new battery). The mileage is very low and original and from what I was told by the previous owner, the actual mileage is much lower because the vehicle was towed behind an RV for much of it's life. I have been driving the car since September and haven't had any mechanical problems. All the lights, horn, signals, 4 wheel drive, heater, etc works. Here is a list of the work recently performed on vehicle: New fuel pump and filter Tank cleaned and etched New Battery New taillights New four piece Rampage top with tinted windows New exhaust ( cat back). Still needs hangers replaced New brake switch New shifter bushing (nylatron, not rubber) Oil change Front brake pads and rotors Car has good tires. Also has a Carr King of the Mountain aluminum heavy duty light bar with three halogen spots. Only one bulb is working right now but all three worked when I got it. I think some condensation got in there and blew the bulbs. The underside of the truck has been undercoated and is in good condition. What it needs: Bushings. After sitting for so many years the rubber bushings have crumbled. Replacement polyurethane bushings are available from Energysuspension.com and the whole set is less than $150. Trans service. I have not had the transmission serviced as I didn't plan on driving the car this long. The clutch works good but needs adjusting. I also have the nylatron transfer case sheet which I was going to install when the trans is serviced. The sheet comes with the car. Please read carefully: Other info: Vehicle has a minor oil leak. It appears to be on the valve cover but I'm not sure. I top of the oil with about 1/3 of liter of oil once every three weeks. I have never seen more than a few drips under the car.The interior of the car needs some work. The seats are torn. I have some cheap covers on them now but they need better covers or reupholstering. I have the rear seat but it's not installed. I have all of the brackets, they need replaced- one mounting bolt needs replaced because it's broken off. The carpet is in good shape. There is no stereo or cigerette lighter- they were missing when I got the vehicle. The dashboard had some wood panels on it which I removed but the glue needs cleaned off. The truck has a custom hitch on it and a tow bar on the front. There is no wiring for towing as I removed all of it when I replaced the taillights. The clutch needs adjustment. When the rpms are low in second or fourth gear the car pops out of gear. This is an issue I was going to address when I had the trans serviced and clutch adjusted but I as I stated previously I have not had the transmission/transfer case serviced. I have made every attempt to describe this vehicle thouroghly and accurately, however I am not an auto mechanic therefore vehicle is being sold where is, as is, with no warranty implied. The vehicle is available for inspection in North Olmsted Ohio 44070. If you have any questions feel free to contact me and I will do my best to answer your questions to the best of my knowledge.
