Up for sale is my vintage type 1 Volkswagen. 1957; last year of the iconic oval window Beetles. The car does not appear to have ever been separated (body from chassis) from what I can tell but as one would expect its ready for new pan halves. The car had a thick poor repaint years ago which I believe is what helped preserve this body! The car is an original coral red car; considered to be one of Volkswagens most beautiful and sought after colors by collectors. Unlike most VW's of this era you might be lucky enough to locate for sale, this car does have a clean TN title included with it which matches the chassis and is right for the coral red color of 1957. -The car has been gutted inside and is ready to be separated from the chassis for media blasting for paint prep. Very solid car compared to most; rear bumper brackets not rusted out nor are the front foot wells or door post bottoms. Channels are also really nice as are the running board mounting surfaces, only one very small area on the top of the passenger side channel but nothing in need of replacement just a small amount of metal work also a simple hat section of metal work repair needed in one spot by where the fuel tank mount is on the drivers side corner. Needs spare tire-well tub replaced as it has some holes in the bottom like they all do but I have a German replacement panel ready for it and included. Also included is a bunch of other replacement panels that have been acquired but will likely not be used but included none the less. Replacement metal has been fabricated for a bit of rust that was found in the outer passenger side A-pillar/windshield area but has not been welded in yet. Over 30 years ago this car was placed in storage and along the way Por-15 was brushed over critical areas of metal and joints to preserve the cars integrity. -Car also includes many of the hard to find costly original parts from the car such as dash components, radio block-off plate, window regulators, full original German glass and a set of rear pop-outs, original wide-5 rims and a set of chrome mangles (both sets of wheels included), very clean gas tank & original VW fuel cap, 4-tab hood, beautiful heat exchangers, seat frames (missing rear seat bottom), speedo, headlights and tail lights, wiper motor and arms, swing axle crash box trans, new rear wheel bearing/seals and cleaned up rear brakes with original oil slingers included. Many more pieces included. This car has been taken care of and is not a cob-web mess. Cleaned of all headliner material and dry rotted body and door seals, really ready to go and this way you know what you are getting. Radio shown in photo has been sold. Will be a fun project for the next owner and if you are going to restore one why not build an oval (pre-'58) which regularly bring between $10-25K restored... This is a good solid car to start with! If you live near by please feel free to stop by in advance and look the car over. ***I don't have the original motor but will throw in a 1600 12V motor with the deal that I'm told is good just needs a little cleaning.
