Vehicle Detail
This 1973 Charger 2 door coupe is a project I picked up last year, and like most armchair mechanics, I wanted to restore it but haven't had the time. Here's what you need to know: it has the standard 318 V8 engine which I've been working on. I've gotten the engine to turn over but it's still missing the thermostat cover which I've meant to buy but haven't had the chance. Once the thermostat cover is in place and the fluids are changed, engine flushed, and radiator flushed I'm sure it will start. I've changed the plugs, filters, and hoses and put in a new battery. The engine won't turn over while the car is in park but will turn while it's in neutral...I don't know why. The exterior is rusty in a lot of places, typical of Detroit cars of the time period (I grew up in Detroit during the years when this car was produced and they salted the living hell out of the roads back then during the winter months, rusting most cars within 2 or 3 years). However, replacement panels are available on eBay for about $375 each, and if you replace the four body panels it'll look sharp. The trunk is pretty much intact and the interior is in excellent conditon for the age. I would replace the two front seats but you don't have to. You will definitely need new floorpans and carpeting, a new headliner, and small details such as lock knobs. The frame is straight and has surface rust but no holes to the best of my knowledge. As a bonus I'll throw in 2 extra doors, 2 front bumpers already chromed and in excellent condition, and a fiberglass front left body panel, unpainted. As I stated before, this is definitely a restoration project but if you have the time and the space to do the work it isn't a hard project. This Charger will need to be towed as it can't currently be driven. I have the clean title in hand and am ready to sell. I live in the Poconos in Pa.On Dec-04-12 at 19:20:44 PST, seller added the following information: Because I already sold this to a buyer with a ) rating who won the auction and closed out the sale as a "joke" while having no intention of actually buying the car, I want to state this again: the winner MUST make a minimum $500 deposit into my Paypal account within 48 hours of auction close. The remainder of the final bid value MUST be made into the Paypal account within 7 days OF THE AUCTION CLOSE. I am NOT going to again go through what I went through in the last two weeks. I will be happy to work with any buyer regardless of feedback rating but you must abide by these rules. Thank you for your cooperation.
