This is a modern 1911 Merkel "Flying Merkel" clone that is completely hand built and custom fabricated from front to back. This bike is a complete custom with hand made steel frame and reproduced Merkel designed front springer forks. The fuel tank is fabricated from aluminum with a rear petcock and a front "reserve" petcock on the lowest point of the tank. The engine is a modern new Vanguard V-twin motor with a custom intake and dual exhaust. Bike starts very easy with key switch electric start. The transmission is a variable clutch system found in automatic quads and John Deere Gators. Front and rear wheels are color matched rims and have vintage white tires. This bike is equipped with a lever action foot rear brake ONLY! Bike has retro fold down jiffy stand in the rear and way cool HAND MADE leather springer seat. The bike also has antique electric front head lamp and antique tail lamp. Steering is done via very cool retro looking polished stainless pull back bars with custom internal throttle on right grip. THIS IS A TRUE ONE OF A KIND MODERN RECREATION THAT HAS HAD UNBELIEVABLE MAN HOURS INVOLVED. BIKE RUNS SAFELY AT UP TO 65MPH! AND FUNCTIONS PERFECTLY. THE CREATOR DROVE THIS BIKE DAILY ON ERRANDS AND TO EVENTS.
