Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE AUCTION!!! This is a 1968 Mustang fastback project. With an August 1967 build date this is a very early 1968 fastback and only the 4573rd mustang to roll out of the Metuchen plant so it has some 67 carryover features. It’s a C-code 289 car originally (not the typical 302) with an acapulco blue exterior with a blue interior. A pretty sold car that would make a nice winter project. Roof is in nice shape also. Before I get to the car details, please know that there is no title or old registration for this car- you will be supplied with only an official Connecticut State Bill of Sale form CT H-31. This car does not run, brakes don't work and would need to be flat-bedded away because the front strut rod and braces or springs are not on the car so the wheels will flop- won't roll without dolly’s in the front. The vin numbers are stamped into the engine compartment aprons. The doors look like they are from a coupe based on the glass so there is no door tag for this car. There is no dash tag and there doesn’t appear to be any holes in the metal dash structure where it would have been mounted, so I'm guessing this car was to early in the 1967 production to get a dash tag but I’m not positive. Front shock towers are solid as are the front rails, and appears new front torque boxes have been put in. Also appears to have one new rear frame rail and the other one with one of those end patches. Floors looks like they were done with pans versus a fill floor- overall pretty solid. There was probably about 5k's worth of welding done. The bad news is that when I was trying to move it with a tractor loader I bent and ripped off the front radiator support and just don't have the time to mess with this car to fix it. The good news is the front rails seem fine so it should just be a matter of you buying and welding in a new radiator support assembly. The hood and fenders are kind of ruff, the trunk lid is new. Has the front and rear fastback glass, but is missing other parts- what you see is what you get, no other parts included other then the pile of parts shown in the picture. The car is sitting on a very cool set of vintage magnum 500's- they don't reproduce these original deep dish magnums. Selling that car as is where is as. $150 deposit due within 48 hrs of auction close with full payment due within 7 days of auction close. Car must be picked up within 3 weeks of auction close. I am in Bristol, CT but can arrange you inspecting the car if needed- it’s stored in Suffield, CT.
