Up for auction is a 1977 Oldsmobile Toronado brougham with only 49,563 original miles on it .I bought this car in Chicago from the family of the owner after he went into a nursing home.The car had been sitting in a garage for over 20 years and the tires were so dry and flat they were not usable ,so it now has a set of new tires on it .The car now runs very well ,it starts right up and runs smooth and quiet. I changed the oil after i bought it and saw that the old owner marked the oil filter with the day and date it was last changed before he parked it for 20 years, the oil was changed on sunday august 2, 1992 when the car had 47,921 miles on it!!I changed it in 2012 with less than 2,000 miles in 20 years ! The old owner had it extensively rust proofed and he even took off the wheel well moldings rust proofed the fender lips and put the moldings back on ,but removed the lower rocker moldings for fear they would trap dirt and water and did not put them back on ,and they got lost .The paint is in good condition but there are a few spots that need attention ,the edge of the hood peeled a little ,the lower left corner of trunk lid has some rust starting,and there was a spot touched up on the driver front fender that needs to be redone. Chrome is very nice,vinyl top is beautiful ,and body is free of damage. Interior is beautiful with almost no wear showing and it even has its original floor mat . Power antenna and radio work well!! Driver and passenger power seat ,and passenger illuminated vanity mirror. The "OLDSMOBILE' emblem fell off the front right corner above the grill ,there is a glue mark where it fell off ,didnt notice it til I looked at the pictures ,and I have the emblem . On Nov-27-12 at 17:10:18 PST, seller added the following information: None Of the cars I am selling were involved in hurricane Sandy .The areas of Long Island flooded were coastal areas, I live in Hauppauge ,which is in the center of Long Island and was not flooded at all, and neither were the surrounding towns . My area did sustain high winds and many people lost trees, however I consider myself very lucky to have sustained no damage at all!
