1971 GMC PICK UP 50XXX MILES! UNMOLESTED/ 1 OWNER! Rare Opportunity! FACTORY ORIGINAL 350 4 BOLT MAIN! 3 ON THE TREE {3 spd column shift} IT’S TIME TO BURN RUBBER! “HAVE YOU BEEN SEARCHING AN ORIGINAL / CLASSIC ALL AMERICAN PICK EM UP”? IF YOU ANSWERED YES; CHECK THIS ONE OUT! They say honesty is the best policy. So I want to start by making a confession. I love classic cars! However judging them can be subjective. That being said; I don’t think that it takes a car show judge to give this classic GMC two thumbs up for its overall quality. It’s kind of funny how I happen to come across this vehicle. I didn’t actually venture out to look for a classic pick up truck. I actually went to go purchase a classic Olds from a certain gentleman & just happened to see this jewel hiding in the corner. Anyway after getting a little history in regards to its previous ownership & condition I quickly struck a deal to buy this one as well. There’s a lot that can be said about this ole truck. One of the first things that I feel should be mentioned is the vehicles one owner status. This truck has only been in the hands of one individual! The truck was purchased from West Fall GMC truck in Wayne County Illinois by this person. This sale includes first issued title showing Wayne County as the owner’s residence {a pretty neat piece of history within itself}! The gentleman who bought this truck new paid it off in 1976 {that’s when the title was issued}. Unfortunately he passed away in July 2012. The original title that was issued to him is still present. It happens to be the very document that the new potential owner will acquire with the sell of this vehicle! Sometime around 1976 the began to be used rather sparingly. This limited usage continued until 1982 when it was subsequently stored. You will be hard pressed to find another truck more original than this one! Everyone on the road {not just muscle car junkies} seems to love this pick up! It doesn’t matter if you’re cruising the city, freeway or driving through town. Admirers will never be hard to find! One of the first things that you will notice about this truck is its gorgeous factory Yellow/Gold 511 {code Ochre} exterior! STUNNING COLOR!!! The paint is really beautiful! That being said it has lost its original luster. What I mean is that the exterior is very presentable but if you want to bring this historical truck back to the days of its former glory a paint job will be in order. The paint & color has begun to fade in certain areas. There are also a couple of spots where some of it has flaked off. All things being equal the truck looks like a million bucks rolling down the freeway! Besides, I couldn’t bring myself to paint it. I simply love the truck for what it is “not for what it’s not”! Unmolested & 100 % factory correct! Besides she still turns more heads than a group of college cheerleaders! As far as the body is concerned it’s virtually rust free. There is however, one single area on the passenger’s lower door {maybe an inch} where a blister is showing. There is plenty of evidence that the previous owner sheltered & cherished it! This truck still has a pair of rare {1BX2AG code} body moldings! These moldings are still in incredible shape for they’re age! Though original they are not horribly pitted or rusted out like most. They actually give this truck character. It sports a classic look that screams 1971! This truck still carries the original factory {1252 AA code} full foam bench seat that it came equipped with from the factory. The {1626 AA code} parchment trim has seen better days as far as color is concerned. However the overall interior is still in phenomenal shape for its age! The door panels are in very good condition & the factory glass is in stellar condition as well! You will find a show quality dash pad with an amazing steel front dash base as well. The truck is in incredible condition for its age! Look up! Here inside the roof surface looks spectacular & the color has not faded! The heater control bezel is new & the heater actually works. There shouldn’t be a silent moment in the cruiser either if you’re riding alone. There’s a spank brand new CD radio for your listening enjoyment {one of the only parts not original to the vehicle}! I happen to just love this trucks super solid bed! It has the typical rigid surface with some discoloration however, far from a rust bucket. The front {1V46AB code} chrome bumper is in great shape & factory rear white bumper is very presentable. You can’t beat this trucks {1PO1AB} full factory sport style wheel covers! They really seem to add just the right touch & truly make this GMC very appealing! The tires at all four corners are also in very good shape. This one is ready for 40 more years of driving enjoyment! The best aspect regarding this truck has been reserved to be spoken about last. When this GMC pick up left the factory in 71 it left with a mean spirited 350 / 4 Bolt main block! The truck still performs like a champ & runs incredibly strong! With just a couple of pats of the gas peddle and she fires right up. I can not even begin to express just how fun that this classic pick up is to drive! I just had all new belts & hoses installed to ensure dependability. The fluids have been flushed & the oil has been changed. You won’t win any shows for having a brightly paint orange block. I like the truth & lending factor under the hood of this truck! Nothing to hide “amazingly original”! This one has all of the patina that the truck came from the factory with {now faded Chevy Orange}! I am sure that the transmission probably looks as tired as the block. It does however engage and pulls better than it did 40 years ago! 50k MILE TRUCK! As previously stated “this truck is a blast to drive”! All of the signals, head lights & brake lights work. There is really nothing that she needs. At the end of the day this truck is very decent all the way round. You can drive it daily as is or restore it. No matter what you decide to do. Provided you win it I believe it will make someone very happy! All inspections are welcome. Anyone with two or more negative feedback should contact me prior to bidding or your bid will be canceled. If you have zero feedback the same rules apply. I have no time to play games! Bid only if you have immediate funds available. There is a non refundable $500 deposit due within 24 hours of the end of the auction. As always the serious buyer should feel free to contact me if he or she desires to put this beauty in their garage immediately {314-497-9470}. Most of my auctions end early. This truck is very reasonably priced. I can help arrange shipping in the US & overseas. God Bless America & Happy Holidays! On Nov-22-12 at 13:32:26 PST, seller added the following information: I want to address the compliments & questions that I have received about the Chevy grill & emblem. The grill was added a few years ago. The previous owner thought that it would give the truck a semi custom look. Thanks for all of the questions & compliments. Keep em coming!
