Vehicle Detail
PLEASE- NO MORE NON-PAYING BIDDERS, I AM NOW RE-LISTING THIS CAR AGAIN- I AM NOT ACCEPTING ANY OFFERS, IF YOU LIKE IT THEN BUY IT I WILL NOT TAKE A PENNY LESS, THANK YOU,, The car is located about 50 minutes South of Chicago in NW Indiana. -------- This is a extremely rare, documented, factory original H code 383HP, 4 speed, buckets, console, black exterior, white and maroon interior car, possibly the only on in existence. I have been watching Sport Satellites on ebay for quite some time and I assure you this is the rarest one. The car has the original build sheet, fender tag, the original dealers order sheet from the date of purchase, the original window sticker/invoice, all from September of 1967- This car was a special order, built for the customer, it is all on the dealer paperwork. The car also has the original title from the second owner who purchased the vehicle in 1971- This is a real black car, red pin stripe, maroon and white interior car- The car has it's original numbers matching 383 HP engine, and original numbers matching 4 speed transmission. The car is a vary early 68 car, ordered/built Sept 67- and you can see some 1967 things on this car (i.e. ashtray style etc). I love this car and drive it often, and the only reason I am selling it, is because I am buying a rare Challenger. Out of my Mopars, unfortunately this is the one that has to go. FENDER TAG CODES: The car has a 8 3/4 3.23 rear end, wide sill moldings, wheel lip moldings, drip rail moldings, black paint, burgendy upper door color, red accent stripe, build date Sept 05- premium trim interior, vinyl buckets, white/red interior, tires 7.35 x 14, 4 speed trans floor shift, engine 383 4bbl HP V8 - SS two door HT body. (abc tag options): fender mount turn signals, AM radio, tinted glass, console, buckets.------- The car is straight, solid, and CLEAN top to bottom, the body panels all line up very nice. If you look at this car on a rack, you will freak out at how solid and clean it is underneath- there will be no question how nice the floor pans, frame rails, and trunk are, they are beautiful. The trunk floor inside the car is "slightly" rough to the touch, like it had a light surface rust at one time, but the metal is solid and original through and through, you can see it in the photos. The car has original invoices from 1992 when some work was done to it. The invoices show that the fuel tank was removed and replaced, new dual exhaust was installed, the front end was rebuilt, upper/lower ball joints replaced, A frame bushings, tie rod ends, alignment, the engine was completely rebuilt, painted, and put back in the car. The engine has a Edelbroack carb on it, BUT I have the original carb to the car in a box along with the original dual snorkel style air cleaner- (the pie pan looks much cooler) - I personally have installed a new washer bottle, new sealed gel cell old school style Mopar battery, date coded plug wires, new cap and Petronix system that replaced the points - (all internal in the cap) , brand new Legendary maroon rubber floor Satellite matts, and a green and yellow throttle return spring. The car was repainted back in the 90's I believe, and it is not a great paint job- The paint appears flat in areas, a dull finish, and even thin in a couple of areas. You can see some DA marks, some primer scratches, etc in some areas if your eyes are close to the body panel. I am assuming when it was painted, there could have been some dings, small dents, or even the famous old lady scraping the garage trick, but the car was not in any major collisions, etc. (none of this bothered me when I saw the under side of this vehicle) This is why I love driving the car, because it's not a show finish which makes it a little less nerve racking parking at cruise nights.. at night time, the car looks like a million bucks! Day time, it looks great, but you can see it deserves better paint. Besides that, all of the stainless and chrome trim are very nice. The bumpers must have been re-chromed somewhere down the line, they look awesome. The car appears to be all original body panels, it is very straight, but like I said you can see some things in the primer in a few ares. This is not a $70,000 Barret Jackson car, I am asking in the lower 20's for a rare, 4 speed Mopar..I really do hate selling this thing. The car must have been garage kept it's whole life by the looks of the floor pans- all of the pinch welds and seems under this car are dry, complete, and solid. Out of all the Mopars my friends and I own, this car drives the BEST, it rides BEAUTIFUL. Over the winter I planned on pulling the steering box and having it rebuilt because it has play in it, and has a slight leak. The car runs and drives awesome, it starts all the time, the tires have a lot of tread still. the car is not a steel wheel car, but should have Magnums. I think it looks tough just the way it is. The interior is really nice!! Somebody had to have the seats covered at some time, they are nice and white. The original carpet is CLEAN and in great condition. All of the inner window trim is original and nice, the original headliner has a couple blemishes but I would not touch it.. just leave it as is. The dash is beautiful, not cracked, clean, and original. I have a brand new repro B Body steering wheel from Steven's Performance I will give you with the car, I just paid about $225 for that.. it needs to be painted maroon, along with two extra square vents that go by the windshield, as always those are cracked but I have new ones. All of the glass is original and NICE- As far as the transmission, I think the synchros are needing attention, because sometimes it will pop out of third, but the car shifts great. The car has a very nice sound to it. The original buyer was a younger kid who wanted a GTX, but the dealer told him the insurance was going to be to expensive from him, so what he could do was buy a Sport Satellite, and get the H Code RR drivetrain in it. On the order sheet, it says that the $100 deposit he left was refundable, in case his mom did not approve him on buying the car! A lot of Sport Satellites pop up for sale, but a 4 speed is extremely rare, as is a buckets console option and the 383.. the whole package is awesome. I cant think of anything else at the moment, email your questions, and again, please NO TRADES, I dont need a motorcycle, pickup truck, snowmobile etc. The car is sold as-is, no warranty, buyer responsible for pick up or delivery and all taxes and fees when car title is transfered in their name. I CAN EMAIL YOU A PHOTOBUCKET FOLDER WITH ALL PIX as far as I know, the black paint in the trunk and engine compartment is original. All of the wire looms are original. You can still see inspection mark on the brake master. - I believe all of this under the hood with the exception of the engine rebuild, is UN TOUCHED.
