A 1985 bike and 1936 rider exceed the century mark. Now that we’re at the 105 mark it’s time for other pursuits. We’ve had some great rides and enjoyed the attention we, well at least Frieda, have gotten everywhere we’ve gone. If not a potential winner at Pebble Beach she certainly draws attention on the road. Frieda is all original, 1985 was the first year for mono shock and dual disk on the front was an option. One gripe is the side stand, you have to hold it in place until there is weight on it . Takes some getting use to. One of the side cases has a small crack top, see photo. The odometer shows 30,872 this morning. This is subject to change as I try to ride her at least once a month for show and tell. The mileage is incorrect as the speedometer was replaced at the 10,000 mile check up. Metzler tires 1000 miles +/-. Battery is good and has the battery tender lead. This will be a no reserve auction as it is time for Frieda to find a new home and I can’t think of how I could set a reserve. I would consider delivery for expenses and air fare home if not too far, I only do about 400-450 miles a day anymore, or too cold, sorry Wisconsin. I would be returning to Houston, TX. Lots of reasonable flights to Houston. Wouldn’t mind a last trip with Frieda. I would work with your shipper or pick you up at the airport if you wanted to fly in and ride home. On the road Frieda is happy at 70-75 and gets in the low 40s for mileage. The early plan was a frame up restoration but somewhere along the way, about age 74-75 I think, ambition gave way to convenience and I decided to ride instead of work.
