Vehicle Detail
1953 Mercury Tudor body style 70B Flathead V8 3 speed overdrive on the column. Overdrive was hooked to a toggle switch The suspension is still original style equipment, new shocks and brakes. The car does not have power steering. Car was lowered using block in the rear and coils in the front about two inches. Wheels are Wheel Vintique smoothies with stainless ribbed trim rings and bullet center caps. Wiring was all replaced with Summit Racing wiring harness. This car is a 12 volt car and has a Powermaster alternator that looks like a generator. Aluminum radiator was added to keep the car cool, and it works great. Exhaust is simple with headers and glasspacks, has a nice cackle going downhill or just when you let off the gas. It has an Offenhauser manifold with dual Holley 94 carbs and runs an electric fuel pump. Tail lights are LED. Bumpers were smoothed and bullets removed from the front Three extra grill teeth were added and a 54 hood emblem was added (they just look cooler and are heavier construction than the 53 model). Hood and trunk emblems were also removed. Interior has seat covers (NOS from the 60’s), black carpet and seat belts have been added. Car came radio delete and wanted to keep it looking that way, stereo was mounted in the original speaker area and the grill was made to flip up keeping the stereo hidden but still functional from a remote; also has IPod control. Polk audio speakers on the rear tray and Pioneer self-contained speakers are under the front seat. Car was painted Daytona Blue Pearl Metallic, a Hot Rod Flats paint. After getting the car back and taking it to the car wash I realized that the paint was much better looking when wet. So it went back to the paint shop and clear was added for a one of kind color combo. The car is solid. On the right rear quarter there is some rust bubbling up above the right rear wheel.
