No I did not find this bike in the barn. I recently purchased it and have decided to pass it along to someone who will hopefully bring it back to its original glory. I am far from an expert on these old Triumphs but will pass along the information I have been given from the previous owner and a few knowledgeable enthusiasts. First of all the bike starts runs and stops very good. It idles quietly and smoothly shifts through all the gears. It is a matching number bike. The battery has been removed and replaced with a capacitor and the voltage regulator is intermittent. It should be replaced if needing to run the headlight. The tank is a 4 gallon tank from a 1957-59 650 Triumph. The 1959 Bonneville is one of the rarest and most expensive Triumphs so this tank should be more than a fair trade-in on an original. The lower fork legs are from a later model but the triple tree is correct and has the mounting holes for the nacelle. The front brake is 8 inch. The seat is in great shape with a solid pan. All of the parts pictured also come with the bike including original chain guard and an old Lucas battery. I have mentioned the items that I know are non-stock so it would not take a whole lot to bring it back to stock if so desired. I have seen most of the original parts listed here on E-bay. However, it is a very, very cool bike as it is. Pure class and draws a crowd at every stop.
